You're asking for a zone now? Irony. whoa I'm not asking for a zone.. its either that or play hymes less..more I think about it-- play the man- if you cant defend your position you cant play-- simple really Hymes, Oliver, Bisning and Adu need to play less then 15 combine min a game. Wolfe, JO, White, Wright, Long, Poole and Imoh should be the only rotation right now...if we want the Mitch era gone then the team needs to cut bait and move on. Hymes is 5'6 that is not a D1 player, with his so so shot or speed. If Siena is going to be 500 or under 500 either way then let the freshmen grow and take lumps....this is a rebuilding year!

If you're gonna not play Bisping for defense ok, maybe Wolfe can provide a shooting spark. We NEED it from somewhere.

Hymes may, and that's a big MAY, get his points similar to Tay but he should not be starting. Anyone offer up a suggestion as to why he turned down several opportunities while almost turning it over with crazy assed sideways passes after going up for a 3pt shot? If the hand was hurting he shouldn't have been on the floor. He also showed a level of immaturity that he should have grown out of by now - his Junior year! White clearly won his spot tonight.

Hymes had 0 D1 offers other then Mitch...there is a reason for that. Yes he can provide a quick spark here and there but if he does not have it in the first 3 or 4 offensive possessions that he is in the game for then bench him.

BTW...I thought Brown coached a great game, stayed composed and just stuck to the plan, never panicked and really coached circles around Patsos who was just subbing for the hell of it. Running guys in every dead ball.
That tech was brutal...Brown bitch-made him today.

Jimmy won 20 something games last year shooting sub 30% from three. Maybe I'm wrong and we don't need the three. Maybe White's added defense for 35 mins gets us there? We'll see.

KK-- this is the problem.. this isn't the 1`st time I have seen team. I understand its your first time. Hymes will play..mainly because we have no choice. I'm sure he will have better games than tonight, and in games where he can match up, I'm sure Jimmy will play him. In the half court we need to play our best offensive players- run more sets for Lavon.. he is a load down low and can shoot. White is tough match up, JO is our best offensive center. ( Silas had a good game) Poole is Poole- offense noticeably bogged down when Hymes( I think only shot he hit was a bull shit bank shot 3 pointer) Oliver ( another player that got beat bad in man to man D) I think Jimmy needs to establish Lavon and JO down low, it will open up more shots for Hymes and Poole IF Siena is going to be primarily a man to man defense team- HYmes- Oliver- Bisping will struggle all year, all 3 are not good man defenders..and in Hymes and Bisping case they are downright horrible Don't give me "1st time I've seen the team" talk down. White didn't show me anything I didn't already know about him. I just expected him to defer a bit more early. At least 3 of his 3 pointers were the most open 3 pointers the team had all night. His shooting is the EXACT reason I've had the opinion I've had. Like it or not, we need Hymes involved for his shooting and ballhandling. Oliver I think just defers too much. White should get most of his minutes just for his intensity. But we need some shooting out there...somehow. Wright isn't a shooter. White I don't think is either. That means in most lineups you have 4 iffy 3 pt shooters and Poole? Ugh. Please stop w/ the Hymes bit he's not the answer same old Evan drive the ball in the lane w/ nowhere to go w/ it, couldn't get his shot off because he's 5' nothing. He was glued to the bench in the 2nd half for a good reason WHITE! The Frosh where outstanding. Thought Silas played well Bisping heh! Poole has to square up. Wolfe plays 5 seconds .. if this the time he gets then he should have been RS. JP the jury's out ... Not impressed w: the x/o's and he was subing far too much 30 secs in get yanked and put back in ... No flow. 3pt shooting still bad. UA was allowed to dictate tempo 2nd half.

He was glued to the bench in the 2nd half for a good reason WHITE! And White forced up some shots and literally handed the ball to a defender once too. I like White. His energy was better than I expected. Should he start, probably. Should Hymes not play a lot? No. This is a situation where, for better or worse, you need them both cause neither is a complete player until White starts making jumpers.

Most of Whites bad shots came late in the 2nd half Hymes is a role player. Not saying he shouldn't play.

Like it or not White was the only one creating off the dribble for 5 minutes of the game. Needs to get under control but could be a good scoring guard. Wright needs a jump shot. He has a silky smooth crossover. Ogunyemi needs to get stronger. Don't remember too much of Long. For people hating on Bisping my dad pointed out that he had a few good rebounds and passes during the second half. Would like to see if Wolfe can get better.

Stat of the game...first 14:15 of the game we score 32 points (lead 32-16). The final 25:45 of the game we score 30 points (lose 74-62). UA outscored us 58-30 the final 25 minutes...UA really kicked our tail. We will get better from this. The young guys will learn you have to play for 40 minutes and improve shot selection and decision making!

This was a sloppy game and in my mind a horrible loss even for a young Siena team. Early fouls tempered the intensity, with experience those early fouls will disappear as will ua's reign.

I can understand some disappointment after racing out to a 16 point lead in the first half, but the result also shouldn't be a huge surprise.
You're talking about 1 team that got over 100 minutes from seniors vs one that got over 100 minutes from freshmen making their college debut.
I'm much more optimistic about this season going forward and then the future. Wolfe aside since he hardly played, the freshman debuts could be labeled anywhere from good to outstanding. None of them were overwhelmed and they all looked like they belong.
We will be competitive most every night in the MAAC and that is the most important thing with a young talented team. Get them in as many high stress, big game situations. Sure we will come up short a bunch but the experience is invaluable.
As for the Albany game, I like our chances next year. Give these freshmen 900-1000 minutes of experience and I think we will pick up the W.
