The easiest way for Long to get on the floor is to play the "4." We had a poor team last year, but our best returning player, Poole, is a pure "3." Bisping got ZERO burn last year on a bad team. So why he's getting annointed 25-30 min a game is beyond me unless he improved dramatically over the summer.
Long IS a face up PF, and that's a good thing. He'll have to concentrate on rebounding when he's playing there. Can he play SF? Sure, but that's the last place we need him. I can see him getting 20 min at PF, and maybe 5 at SF a game this year.

Lavon is not a face up.4...since you dont believe what you have read or what Patsos has said himself only the games will convince you...so be it...we are on the same side as well

So he can't shoot 15 ft'ers, or put the ball on floor to get around typical 6'8" PF's, but you want him to play the "3?"

Patsos "wants" to play him as a 3/4 because he can do those things and more.. have you been paying attention? Lavon can play 1-4 says HC Patsos...he was a " matchup nightmare in Canada...and I have shown enough video of what he can do....make sure you come to the games...seeing is believing

PPC, Lavon can be a circus act on offense at the 3, but many games it will be 2 quick fouls and out at the division 1 level for a kid who has never played the position on defense. That is the reality. I think everyone on here hopes he grows into the position but it isn't going to happen for a couple years. Rob Poole will be the 3 until he drops from exhaustion, every game. Lavon will play, solid minutes, mostly at the 4, unless he screws up. Whatever the situation was at Loyola, they didn't have Rob Poole in the equation. I am sure Jimmy didn't lie to you but it is a different situation in Loudonville.

Way too much conjecture about what will or will not happen at the 3-4 slot. The season is not that far off and the fact of the matter will be self evident. Can we put this issue to bed and wait for the play on the floor to provide the answer?

Lavon will be GREAT player at Siena. And from what I am told he is class act-a credit to PPC! But like all the GREATS that came to Siena it's going to take time to develop his college game.
PPC- Don't worry about the talk on this boad. Remember there are tons of people on this board that are from Siena's rivals. And just looking to cause trouble!

It does not bother me ...there will be ups and downs along the way...In this case the poster is pushing an agenda that's contrary to reality so I felt the need to address him...cant wait for the season to start and players are judged by what they do on the court

You never know, maybe Lavon will average 20 and 10 and you will steer him to a HM so you can realize your dream (I mean his dream). BTW- Burns isn't bigger than Lavon. Elijah Burns is 6'8" and going to prep for 2 years. He isn't "bigger" than Lavon, but he is taller and possibly still growing. He already had an offer from Siena, he's going prep because he wants to go higher.

PPC.. substitute "dazzling" or "highlight reel" for "circus act" in my previous post, I truly meant that he could be an offensive pheonom, but with no experience on defense at the 3 he will likely get beaten by D1 guys a couple times a game and will inevitably will get caught reaching in, or grabbing or bumping, whatever. Lavon looks to have the skills to be a very successful D1 mid-major basketball player but for now, I wouldn't expect to see him as other than a 4 and limited minutes back-up 3.

Patsos will decide what to do with Lavon....
