Long Poole and Bisping at the 2,3, and 4 made good music together ...dont see Patsos going away from that completely 6'5 6'6 6'8 Patsos likes size and Poole is a guard not a forward ...with the makeup of this team he need not log mins at the 4...Long has proven the skill set to play the 3 and did well in Montreal as a 3/4 really dont see that changing ...how much he plays 3 vs 4 will depend on the matchups.. IMO the line-up should shape up like by MAAC season: Wright 30 > Hymes 20 White 20. Oliver/Audu 10 Poole 30 Long 10 Bisping 15 Long 15 Wolfe 10 Silas 20 Ogunyemi 15 Bisping 5 Think it will obviously vary based on injuries, match-ups, and performance during the game; but this is what I would use based off video, scouting and word of mouth. The decisive move here is the debate over Hymes' role. With no real back up point guard, his value is better suited as back up to the 1 and 2 during the game to provide outside offense and ball handling in situations where the oppenents are pressing, scoring draugts, or at the 1 when Wright needs a breather/pulled in to be coached up on an in-game occurrence. Also the value of getting White minutes at the 2 helps prepare him as a scoring threat in the future when the saints have an actual chance to contend for a MAAC championship. I also like Silas as a low post 5, Bisping a stretch 4 OR 5, JO as a scoring/mid range 5, and Wolfe strictly a stretch 4 playing alongside Silas only. Thoughts?

Long will play mostly at 4 with Poole at 4. With Wright, Hymes, White, and Oliver the back court is set I agree, if Cole is elligible he goes between the 2 and 3. We have plenty of backup at the 2 spot almost too many players. A couple will probably not be happy. Long will play mostly at the 4 when it all said and done over the next 4 years. It's where he will create the most mismatch issues. Long at the 3 doesn't create problems for opponents. Although he will see time at the 3 this year if Cole has to sit. I would really like to see JP recruit another 3 like Ubiles - long and athletic. I'd also like to see him recruit another pg (thinking Taplin / Hood would be nice) as well. I think Poole stays at the 3 no need to play him at the 2. The post spot is up for grabs between JO Silas and Bisping.

TY for the info. So it sounds like the fact that we haven't Rec'd confirmation yet isn't a bad sign.
I'd still like to hear something sooner if possible. Wouldn't it be cool if Siena found out "good" news by 9/12 to share w/us at the TUC?

I would like to see Patsos bring in some size ....a true big hopefully and that will allow Long to play the 3 and Poole to get minutes at the 2 as Patsos stated initially ....with Bisping wolfe and JO getting mins at the 4....Long will play the 4 when the team goes small and play mostly the 3/4 depending on the matchup over the next 4 years....

I agree a solid big around 6'9"- 6'11" would be nice but the reality is that they are not common in the MAAC, for every Jason Thompson there are 20 stiffs. Every once in awhile you get lucky and you get a RyRo. But I wouldn't hold out too much hope for that at least not until we move to the A10 and can recruit at a higher level. A solid big, not a project goes big time,

We have 4 big men on the roster, the staff is recruiting combo guards and combo forwards, which makes sense.

with only 1 true pg I am sure a backup is on the menu and a big would be next on my list...really Believe Patsos has enough confidence in Poole and Long at the 3 rather than recruit over them.. could always use another big though as well since none on the roster are centers even by MAAC standards IMOP

With White, Poole, and Cole there will be limited if any minutes left at the 3 next year. This year maybe. But I see Poole getting major minutes at the 3 until next year.

Poole is a Jr you're not recruiting over him you're recruiting to replace him. I'm still partial to a Ubiles type wing. a true 5 is not a necessity in the MAAC. A pg like Hood or Taplin is a given.
You already have 5 potential 4/5 w/ JO Bisping Wolfe Silas and Long ( who can help at the 3). The roster spots that need to be filled are wing and pg.

I am not sold that this kid is such a great "catch", after all he had a "nice" season at Coppin State, which last I looked was not confused with Ohio state or Michigan State. If he gets the waiver we will have at the 2 : White, Hymes, Oliver, Audu, maybe Poole, and now Cole? Seems like 3 too many to me. You may be right but from what I have heard he wasn't playing in a very good system and can score the ball in a good one. The one knock I've heard is that he isn't super quick which can hurt trying to get by on the first step and when defending closely. As with everything else all will be come clear in due time.

PPC with all the time you spend on thees boards, you should spend time educating yourself on who the staff is recruiting: they are all guards and forwards. As Knicksaint stated recently, the top 3 are Kevin Degnan (6-8 Combo Forward) who signed with Fairfield, Sterling Taplin a 6-2 combo guard, and William Bradwijk a 6-8 combo forward who can shoot it real well from 3. The staff has reportedly tried to get 6-8 Elijah Burns to reconsider his reclass to 2015 and come to Siena, they have been recruiting him hard according to his twitter - he is a combo forward. We do not need any big men as we have four on the roster who will be here for the enxt 2 years. we recently offered a wing who selected Bucknell.

We can speculate about who plays where all day everyday but it all will be decided in practice ...White and Cole are wild cards without actually playing with the team.
from the games that have been played and the statements made before and after games this is where we are right now
Wright - Hymes- Poole Hymes- Oliver- Audu- Poole Poole- Long Bisping-Long-Wolfe Silas-JO- Hopper
That is how it played out in Montreal ...the 2 spot is thick and gets thicker with White added...makes for good competition in practice....
