Is the Siena job that hard? We have the best facilities, alumni support, media coverage, and an administration that stays out of the way of any coach. I just want them to hire someone who has done this before at D1 level and can get us back to contending for the league championship every year. The right candidate would enjoy working with the alumni and community while being able to help with fund raising. Show up at a couple banquets and shake a few hands. The NIL collective will have all the resources needed. Yes, most jobs at a similar level are an afterthought playing on a small arena on campus with other major sports teams dominating the news. The Siena job is more demanding, you need to be able to hold up to the media scrutiny and need to put butts in the seats to keep the team in the big arena. The opportunity for moving up is bigger thanks to the bigger spotlight but if you want a safer job there are a lot of better options. Honestly, people don't want to hear it but Year 1 Patsos is exactly what we need right now. We need that gregarious ambassador that is willing to go door to door in the dorms to get the kids out and be honest with the media and fanbase. What we don't need is the complacent Patsos who gets his extension and then checks out. And we certainly don't need another smug narcissist like Carm who can't even be bothered to let the fans know when players are injured.

I wonder how many coaches won 6 games or less in their fifth year and were brought back for a sixth year that also had zero NCAA tournament appearances? I bet it’s basically a short list and only low major programs with no fan support.

He just didn’t have the drive.

Gerry McNamara? He was supposedly “in the mix” when Christian was hired. With Autry being the guy at Syracuse, does McNamara sit in waiting or venture out on his own at some point?

Coaching Changes @coachingchanges · Follow We are told a job in the northeast is going to pop this week. Not going to say which job yet, because I have always personally really liked the guy who is apparently about to get whacked and do not want to cause him undue anguish if the report we received turns out to be untrue. 11:18 AM · Jan 28, 2024
This "tweet" just popped up on the MAAC board.
edit. A follow-up tweet somewhat walks back the imminent nature of the "firing".

I have no interest in Will Brown being the next Siena coach. There are plenty of other quality, qualified coaches to pursue. Time for new and fresh AD and HQ. No more easy lazy hires! You would if it meant giving Carm the heave ho and being able to afford a coach while buying Carm out. You hire him on an interim basis. Let him prove himself!

Will's best coaching days are behind him. I'd rather see Wyche get a shot before WB.
