The biggest difference to last year is one of the three was a stud and the other two proved to be useful D-I role players. The three slated to be on scholarship in '21-'22 consist of one useful role player and two that have legitimate questions about whether they are DI players at all. Well I guess it’s all over for Siena’s resurgence. All is lost. It was a good almost one year run. Is it time to look for a new coach or do we allow Siena to sink slowly into the abyss and let this guy oversee a five year decline before we let him go? Get real guys, stay calm and step back from the edge. Maybe Bill but idk there’s a lot of valid points in this thread. Signing two guys that are mirror images of each other with a similar player already on the roster. Coach has been saying he wants to pick up the pace and you sign not one but two plodders? Signing both these guys with similar skill sets who are both ineligible for 20/21 seems very odd. Especially when this type of player could be found at almost any time of the year. I think most here are rightly confused when trying to figure how these guys fit.

Was actually a pretty good post until the last sentence. Looks like $cott has finally snapped from house arrest!! 😂 I have higher ambitions than just competing for MAAC Championships. These moves make me think we can barely achieve that once Jalen is gone. I can deal with one year bad decisions but throwing away our scholarships for two years down the line is mindboggling.

I don't know what Carm's plan is but i am confident he has one. In Carm I trust!

All 3 of these Saints current centers are 2-Star recruits. None of them overwhelm you on paper. Unless they improve their games dramatically over the next couple of years, like Manny has during his time at Siena, I expect each to be decent MAAC level players, but not super-stars. Probably none of them will be all MAAC players. We were spoiled with Elijah this years. Let's hope they can provide some consistent, good enough play at the center position, next year and beyond. Given the size that other MAAC schools will have on the floor, we will need these guys to play and contribute.

Besides if these guys are you’re 11-13 guys that’s a heck on a roster. They’re all legitimate D1 players. If one of these guys is your 12th guy and the other is your 9th not the worst thing. Not like you’re committing four years to them. Remember Pepperdine is the WCC really a good league not just Gonzaga but St. Mary’s, BYU, San Francisco etc really similar to the A10. As far as last year Hein cost us one year and we needed him early in the year— Jordan and Gary were not ready for D1 out of the gate. We still have another ship to use. Hard to get many to campus this spring if any.

I didn’t say questions can’t be raised only that going directly to abject despair is unwarranted.

Let’s just wait and see how it goes, maybe a hidden gem here. Also, if they’re playing faster will they be as dependent on the pick and roll or will that be a second or third option?

My understanding is that Arrington is/will be a walk-on. Doesn’t seem like a bad commit to me. Stormo coming in having D1 experience after sitting a year(maybe) allows for a higher level grad commit for the upcoming season? Not seeing the sky falling yet. Did I miss something?

Let's put it this way, if Pitino added these two to their roster we would be laughing our asses off. Siena adds a couple of D2 bigs and it is all "In Carm We Trust".

Ask Anderson Cooper, Trump, and a lot more who all said, "nothing to worry about, the flu is worse" if that worked for them!

I get that these make us scratch our heads, but do we have any other choice but in trusting the coach who won the title in his first year? Do you think he doesn't see what we see? We still have another scholly this year and 2 next year. No time to throw in the towel. We're taking the equivalent of 2 scholarship years for the price of 3. Not a horrible deal. Like somebody (MTS?) said, if these guys provide depth and big men to practice with and push Young (whom I think will develop nicely) then we should be fine. But I agree, I would like somebody THIS year, but lets see what happens. Like I said, do we think Carm is less insightful than we are? I donm't think so. I'm giving him the benefit of the doubt 12 months into his HC career after winning the conf.
