I know the ship sailed shortly after his visit, but for those interested in where he ended up:

Sutherland may, in fact, be the future at the 4 for Siena. I'm just not sure the future is this year.

What stands in his way KK? Harris, Camper, Seymour, Ratliff..
He has to beat 3 of them out. That will take time.
You just know whomever loses the job as the starting 3 is still a threat to be in the starting lineup. He has to first prove he's the better option.

Am a big fan of Sutherland. He’s a poor mans Rossiter right now who has a better outside jump shot and handle. I think he will have his freshman year ups and downs, but after a full offseason of lifting and getting faster and stronger he will make that jump his sophomore year and surprise a lot of people. Sutherland and Harris seem to be the 3/4 moving forward.

Good enough. It will be refreshing to see that kind of competition. Just have to hope it doesn't hurt team work. I guess that is the coache's job to see it doesn't happen.

The way I see it: The combination of skills that Sutherland possesses is more complete than any of the other options at the 4. He's bigger and more experienced in defending bigger guys than Harris. He's a better shooter than Camper. He is a better... well, everything except shooter than Sloan. The question is does his current combination create a good enough player to overcome the known strengths of specifically Camper and Sloan. Namely-- is Luke a good enough defender to overcome Camper? He's a better shooter, probably close to as athletic, similar "ball skills", and he's bigger. Camper is the better rebounder. The defense, rebounding, and experience are probably what would keep Manny ahead of Luke as of now. If Luke can prove that his combination of skills good enough, he'll get minutes. But he has the chance to be the true PF that we don't really have. I don't really think of Sloan and Luke as comparable. the question is how much are you willing to live with Sloan's deficiencies to get what he's so good at?

He can beat Camper who can't shoot, and Ratliff who has yet to show that he's anything but a role player. Seymour seems hard to beat because the staff is enamored with him. But if he continues to be a one trick pony, he could find himself in a role of sniper off the bench. Harris and Sutherland are not in competition. Harris is a 2/3. I think he's gonna beat out Camper for that spot. Harris, Carey, and Pickett on the court together is going to be a delicacy. Sutherland is at least a year away. He'll get meaningful minutes, but not many guys his size are impacts right away at this level. The fact that he had so little division 1 interest tells you he's likely not quite as good as his game tapes suggest. But if Seymour doesn't progress, I can see Sutherland passing him in the future. Bottom line is if we get Webster, we have quality depth at all 5 positions where someone who comes off the bench can give us something. We have had that in many years. If Carm isn't a disaster, this team should have enough to contend for a title in what should be a stronger MAAC.

I Like Luke, he is talented well spoken, hard worker- but I caution you guys big guys in the MAAC almost always take a year or so to develop. Doubly so on experienced teams. Coaches love experience. We have 7 guys with significant D1 experience, So far only freshmen I expect to be in playing group ( top 8) is Harris – not to say Luke or Young won’t get any time, just that’s is a significant mountain they have to climb, I hope they do push the starters

Wow for you Will Amica fans how many shots did that runt get blocked in that game I don’t know, I’m still watching the Saratoga game where Amica singlehandedly got them to Glens Falls 😂

Sutherland looked as good as Cisse to me (though he's probably not). Luke's got a sweet stroke from 3 and gets up and down the court with surprising speed for a guy his size. I think Seymour has some serious competition at the 4, and had a better add to his game. Amica was overmatched out there. Couldn't get anything when he drove inside and was rejected repeatedly. Why anyone would want to see that happen at Siena is beyond me. Yeah, because all of our MAAC opponents are going to have a 5 star center in the paint!! 😂😂👍. Without Amica dominating the Saratoga game, Luke never gets to play against CTK. Royals did see the ‘Toga game and def took Will out of their game. They figured out the best way to beat them (stop Amica) and they did it.

He has 4 offers currently, so he'll land somewhere. The staff has got offers out to a lot of PGs that appear to have more upside than him, but I'll say he's now certainly someone to keep an eye on for 2020 if he's no longer 5'8.

I think you got the 5’8” Anderson mixed up with Amica. Amica is probably 5’11”, but he can play. He’s a CR kid and since we signed his teammate Luke, I figure we have a recruiting advantage. I still like Noah better, and not sure we d recruit Amica if we sign a smaller guard this year.

If Webster commits, I’d expect Young maybe redshirts, and Darwiche and Hein fall outside top 10. This team could go with a 10 deep rotation to start. And with an injury here and there it may end up at 8 or 9 at the end of the day. That’s what you want.
