The point is, if a decision is going to be made this week, there may st be some sort of medical evaluation going on to determining be the outcome. Otherwise if he is fit to play there is only one decision as the injury would not be season ending.

All good points. Reality, as many have stated here, Sammy great kid, good student but mediocre lower D1 player. We don’t know how well he will bounce back after surgery. He has a tendency to put on weight, 1 pound extra equivalent to 8 pounds on the knee.
That being stated we have him next year. If a prospect comes up for a ship in 20-21 you have lost it. Of course you can always withdraw the ship if you decide to give it to Sammy for that year, as the ships are on an annual basis. To be fair to the school and Sammy, red shirt him, he graduates, got his 4 year deal, 5th year he knows going in he may loose it. Should work for both school and him.

Gorvy is correct in that if medical clears him, the redshirt is off the table. I still believe that EVERYONE in this case will do the right thing. No guarantees any of us will be here next year For many, it's just up to God!

What you say is true, but I firmly believe SHE owes us at least 8 years of decent Siena hoop - then SHE can call our numbers and pull the plug, LOL...

man, its tough being an atheist rooting for the local small catholic school. Not to turn this into a theological debate Saintsfan but one question - do you hope you're right or wrong? Just wondering.

I'm going to say Sammy isn't a mediocre low D1 player. If that's the case your calling Siena lower D1.And I'm sure some on here don't see Siena as lower D1.Before he got hurt he was showing to be a very valuable contributing player.I also think he started a few games.Shown with different coaching and better dedication to getting into shape Sammy was more then mediocre.I like Sammy also as a person and he'll always hold a special place with me and a my son.So to say he's a mediocre lower D1 player I'll just disagree.JMO

By al accounts Sammy a great kid. Now put your heart aside and use your brain. Answer the questions. Where is Siena rated, much to mine and veryones else’s dislike here. Would JC have recruited him? Did any other school go,after Sammy, I am not sure, perhaps a few in the know can enlighten us. i don’t like where Siena is right now, their rating and god bless JC and the team for excelling. Siena was picked what 10th in the weak MAAC not by me or anyone here but by the supposed brain trust. My point don’t put the school where it is not, yet. It will get their, hopefully quicker than most think.

Old Dave, what’s not to like about where Siena “is” today? I think tied for second is pretty awesome considering we were picked last.
The sky’s the limit for where Siena will be in the near future.
I think we’ve had just about enough of your back handed negative comments about our Sammy Friday, thank you.

Also I see the forest through the tress, I am a realist. As stated the team is excelling, which is great. Fans are returning. I was trained by the school to want to continue to improve. So far no one has given any reasonable explanation of how I am wrong regarding Sammy. At least not the fans who know basketball. Again Sammy is a great kid, team player. You mouth off about my negative attitude but never answer the questions I asked. Typical, of your own blinded attitude that the school can do no wrong. Wake up smell the roses, Siena is trying to return to its glory days after 8 years of poor management. Personally I am proud they are doing it. IMO one, perhaps 2 more moves and Siena will be soaring again.

Others have expressed their pleasure where Siena is now. We both agree Siena is headed in right direction and will reach glory days again (which I always knew would eventually happen even during the past 8 years). You said Samny is not a D1players and/or a mediocre player. Rickyp, I and the people who “liked” rickyp’s post saying he’s not a mediocre player disagree with you. I don’t have to give reasons why I believe what I believe because I don’t need to justify my fanhood to you. All I asked was to stop with the negative comments about Sammy not being a D1 player. It doesn’t matter if you like the kid or wish him well if you’re going to criticize him as being mediocre. Why don’t we ask Louisville or which ever BCS school we played a few years ago where Sammy went off on the superior bigs of that team if they thought Sammy was mediocre. PS: if you want my evidence/support for my comment that Sammy is not mediocre or not a D1 player, please see Rickyp’s comments because I agree with that assessment.

Tony, maybe we should move the “non-injury” Sammy comments to smack board. We could label it why old Dave thinks Sammy is not D1 and/or mediocre talent or something.
As a Siena and Sammy fan I’m finding those comments not appropriate for this thread. JMO.

IS philosophy 101, have fact to refute another’s argument. Categorically stated prior, no stated negative about Sammy personally, just positive. Positive about the way the school is progressing. Your fandom, stated prior, not my style of being a follower, lemming, but admire your tenacious attitude of protecting the school. Obvious I struck a cord with your continued comments, generalizations. I read and accept your posts,, respect your opinion, but we all know what opinions are like everyone has one. Until you can refute mine, I ll be nice keep it to yourself. This board is used by 90% to post regarding what they feel is wrong with and improve the program.

Please calm down. Everyone is entitled to their opinion. Let's keep a handle on reality. Every roster has players that may or may not fit well for a variety of reasons. This is intensified when there is a coaching change, or a change in player attitude or work ethic
