In a one and done I'd go with 7 (Ratliff is 7). Go all out for Saturday with a ton of rest...because if you don't win Saturday there is to Sunday or Monday obviously. Jamion said on the coaches show you worry about Sunday when you get there. If we're lucky enough to get a nice lead in the second half (I think/expect this game will go right now to the wire) then perhaps you can play Huerter or Bayer or Denzel a minute of two late. Yeah, definitely Ratliff before Huerter but Ratliff hasn't been right since he's come back either.

Hoping for end of August suggests a pretty significant injury. I know no one was counting on Darwiche to be the savior for next season but his status certainly puts even more urgency on getting a combo guard that is ready to contribute right away.

I agree that adding guards to the mix is needed. Pickett is the point guard with Carey as his back up. I would like to see the next guard to be a straight 2 guard in the Scott Knapp mode, catch and shoot guy. Siena hasn't really had one since Tay Fisher/Clarence Jackson. (Poole maybe?). I'd like to see the 2nd scholarship go to another 3/4 player to provide depth at those positions. Last scholarship to a transfer unless there is another no brainer who can contribute next year. (hard to recruit 3 impact freshman in one off season).

Achilles injury? That's serious stuff. Not a lot of improvement to be expected if he can't even work on his game at full speed until Sept./October. Kid will be behind everyone for 2nd straight year.

yup, luck has not been on Darwiche side I don't know that good luck would make that much of a difference for him either but he's certainly always behind. well he arrived late and has been injured pretty much since day one. He was playing with and against D1 caliber players in Europe and never looked as slow as he looked here. And Siena arguably threw up a low D1 schedule last year. Granted... most of what he saw was the most difficult of that schedule. But it was obvious that something was wrong. The injury explains a lot. it is also telling that they didnt look to move him on either. I think they know full well the bum wheel detracted a huge amount from his game.

Also perhaps Darwiche can provide a little more if not playing hurt I’m not sure he ever totally healed from his lower leg/ankle area injury that he got in Aug/Sept which kept him out of practice at beginning of the season. We probably never saw what he was really capable of. Hopefully, this season we’ll see what he can do on back-up mind when/if healthy.
