Is sports gambling allowed there? Only way it will work. Will be pretty hilarious if you can bet on the games in Albany but not in Atlantic City cause there are New Jersey colleges involved. Yup, from what I read NJ will not allow you to bet college games played in NJ or games involving a NJ team. Kind of sucks the fun out having the games played in A.C. if you can't bet on them there. However, I can understand why they plan to enforce that rule.

ECAC hockey moved its tournament to AC for a year or two. A total disaster. Conference's main event was played in front of ghosts. ECAC couldn't wait to get back to Lake Placid.
I'm not sure if MAAC hoops will fare any better. Rider and SPC rarely fill glorified high school gyms. MAAC presidents want the tourney rotated every few years. It's obvious they do not care about atmosphere, etc. The schedule is idiotic as well. No Sunday or Monday? Starting on a Tuesday? Ugggh.
Perhaps if several of the school's presidents are hassled by enough panhandlers and/or ladies of the evening while out on the boardwalk, this event won't head back to the beach after its contract concludes.

If Siena is in the Championship Game I'd drive down for it & spend the night . . . otherwise it's TV for me

You have to empathize with the other schools. AC is mid-major choice , made by mid-major college presidents and AD's. Not even close to the ECAC caliber people who made the same blunder. At least there is an aura of magic in LP. The best, and almost only alternative to TUC is Hartford (yeah, where "the measles kids played). The promotion has to begin there today. You at least get QU and Fairfield coverage, Marist, Iona and Siena are on the same part of the planet. Is this so hard to see?

It should be rotated but why not at least have it at another teams home site.

I disagree, if it isn't it Albany, it should be in the Westchester/Rockland area which would be pretty close to 9 of 11 schools. AC is not much closer to the NYC schools than Albany. Stupid decision, looks like Monmouth is the school with power these days.

Wait until you get a $350 a night hotel bill ( I live here) "Smallbany talks big". Music Maker, does that make me a "non-fan or a troll?"

Speaking of firings it's time for Ensor to be canned. He took the games away when we had Bilas and Raftery for semi and final. He put the games on ESPN3. The presidents and AD's also contribute to these fiascos.

Ya know...I really don't care all that much that they moved it. Give AC a try to see how it does - although I can't believe the days they got for 2020 (Tues thru Sat right before Selection Sunday) will draw all that well. Is that time frame set for the 2 years after that? But, still couldn't be much worse than Springfield.
I don't know the overall numbers while the tournament was here last 4 years but we were in a real down time. Would love to see all the numbers going back to 2000.
I still think they should rotate among a few sites, but there may be added cost to that - don't know.

And they say it starts on Tuesday - I also assume that day is reserved for the women and men start on Wed?
