I’m surprised. I guess he doesn’t want to wait for Jamion to recruit the rest of the pieces to the puzzle. Bye Roman, we’ll miss ya.

That's unfortunate news. I really thought Christian would convince him to stay. That means Bentley & Camper will be the only remaining members of that class. And the entire incoming class was lost as well. I guess it's common when there's a coaching change, but I had hoped we'd keep more than this.
Losing players from any 8 win team probably isn't something to be upset about. But when it happens in May it's a problem because odds of replacing them with something better are greatly reduced. Though it was an 8 win team, the departing players were among the best ones. Christian needs to work some magic or it's going to be a long season. Siena will likely be picked to finish last next year season.

Jamion tried...We want players who want to be at Siena. Not a surprise this kid wants to go back to the Midwest.
JP left a bigger mess that Beyer, Lanier or Mitch left and it’s not close.
We’ll be fine Fran lost far better players (of course he also was left some real good ones too) and built a dynasty.

Truly sucks.
Now up to coach to fill the spot. Donald Carey would be a nice addition. Take the summer to find the point guard of the future to come in 2019/2020.

Got have some faith in the new group there are still some good players out there let’s see what these guys can do... I believe there's a real possibility the same guys would have left if JP returned. Thank God we've got Jamion in here. Next year just want a fun team to watch and start building the foundation. If we win 10-12 games that's fine. Jamion needs to sign a monster class in the fall and we'll be fine going forward. He will get to mold the team with his guys. In the short term losing Penn/Horn/Oduro hurts - long run might be a blessing. That said hope they do well wherever they land. (no guarantee Penn was going to be 100% next year anyway).

"Rebuild year" is just another way of saying that remaining players on roster don't have what it takes . . . Haven't heard "rebuild" from Javion yet . . . not that's CONFIDENCE!!!

JP left a bigger mess that Beyer, Lanier or Mitch left and it’s not close. This should not surprise anyone with half a brain who watched the debacle over the past 5 years - the man was and is a sham and his ass would have been gone a lot sooner had not Siena bought him a post season toybox....Roman Penn is a big loss, I'm sure we'll get through it but I don't think it will be even close to smooth...at least we won't have to endure PPC's shit until she realizes that Richard WILL NOT BE OUR STARTING PG next year EITHER....(even money says Patsos returned his Mark Thomas suit with a stained crotch to boot....) Sorry folks, this thread is really depressing...

While I never like to see Saints players leave the program and it would have been fun to see what Penn, Horn, and Oduro could have become playing for JC, it is not unexpected that they left. Had the Siena administration done the right thing, fired JP as soon as the season was over and hired their new coach in a timely manner, these players may have stayed. So in my mind these players leaving is somewhat on them. Having said that, as fans we want players who want to be here and although all 3 have upside, I did not see any of them turning into HOF caliber players for Siena. With a fairly clean slate JC can recruit his players into his system. I am excited to put the past behind and look forward to the Saints of the future.
