Seems like a good hire. Bringing Mayhem on the court and tranquility off the court is just what the doctor ordered. As long as the wins follow all should be well. Go Saints.

Thanks for the info Tony. You came through as usual. Couldn’t agree more that he may be the savior we need.

He seems like the perfect mashup of Hewitt and Fran. This is very reminiscent of the post-Beyer situation. Paul came in with a focus on conditioning and up-tempo. Unlike Paul, Jamion has head coaching experience so he's got a bit of leg up.
Re: recruiting...how many scholarships are open for this year (assuming we lose nobody and those committed still come)?

I'd throw a bit of Lanier in the mashup as well, given his reputation as a recruiter. Love, love, love this hire.

Technically all 13 players from the start of last season are eligible to return (I'm certainly thinking Smithen could be back with this coach who should love him). There are no remaining commitments. So figure for each of Nico, Prince, Penn, Horn, Bentley, Smithen, and Degnan or another surprise that leaves a scholarship opens.

With all this Mayhem around, I hope Siena is up to date on its premium payments.

I am hoping we keep at least 5 of these guys, for a variety of reasons. Whoever WANTS to leave, I wish them well. Would be nice to be able to get 1 or 2 of Jamion’s own guys, but not sure how many we will get at this late date who would be a significant upgrade. If all of those guys come back (probably not likely, then I am thinking we would have 4 scholarships NEXT year for JC to fill).

Horn has already committed to North Dakota State Would expect Oduro and Bentley to leave Looking like Degnan will be back and Smithen will as well

FWIW - Rodger reporting on the radio this AM that Coach Christian got a 5 year deal worth $350K per year with incentives topping out at $500K per year.

And I also know Oduro has visits elsewhere coming up (Miss St, for one), But also don't think he has committed anywhere. I have heard nothing of Bentley and little of Penn.

To me it makes little sense to transfer in this case. A) they lose a year B) one new coach vs another...both are unknowns C) presumably they already have friends on campus
