Watch his press, while athleticism is certainly helpful, they do more with spacing and double teams. The only guy on the current roster that will struggle with the press is Fisher. His defense is all predicated on desire and hustle. If a guy is willing to bring it, he'll find a spot. Fisher brings enthusiasm and 3 point shooting, both attributes that Christian will like. He just might be too much of a defensive liability to play much and may wind up being that guy that is one of your team leaders but does most of his leading from the bench. Hopefully he will thrive in that role. To pressure the ball like JC does, he won't play Fisher at the PF. He can't afford to. Degnan, Friday, Fisher, and perhaps even Heurter at times will likely have to share the 5 spot. In theory, a guard rotation of Penn, Smithen, Clareth, Camper, Bentley, Richard, and Shivers could maybe already force enough turnovers with the system to get Siena to at least the top half of the PIG. With the right coaching Penn, Smithen, Clareth, Bentley, and Camper especially could excel especially on perimeter D. Richard and Shivers could maybe improve enough to be serviceable. Heurter might be the best 'rim runner' guy we have. If Penn, Smithen, Clareth, Camper, Bentley, Richard, Shivers, Heurter, Degnan, Friday, and Fisher all return...JC would still have 2 scholarships to give to replace Horn and Oduro....If Bentley goes...then 3.

Sure he must have connections on East Coast. Sounded to me like he intends to cast a wider net outside of DMV for recuiting so he now has to deliver the guys who can target those players for him. BTW- Manning and Watson still on the 'roster' on SienaSaints.com....hope that is oversight and not an omen. That would not be a good idea. We obviously want to have assistants as soon as possible, but I do not think it’s necessary to rush it. More important to get the ‘right assistants’ that he will work well with so they can target best for NEXT year. It is late in the period anyway for this coming season and the pool of available players is pretty limited now. I’m hoping he concentrates on seeing who he has coming back. And then sees how many spots he has and look at that small (and shrinking) pool. Who knows – maybe Shaka and/or his other contacts can send guys his way as late as August depending on how many spots we still have. I think it is MOST important for him to get the best possible team of assistants rather than getting a team FAST.

Fisher & Friday are gonna struggle big time with that type of style, let alone be easily winded within a few minutes, they can't stay on the floor for any significant time.....................Huerter & Degnan are more serviceable, but they aren't the type of athletes either to fit that style..........if most stay, there will be alot of trying to fit square pegs into round holes this upcoming yr, bound to be a real rough ride for some players that may not make it or are passed over.......................

I totally agree, I just want the website updated...we could leave the assistants blank because if recruits and families are looking at the website, that would be more accurate that what is there now. Just MHO

If everyone is back there are already 13. We have to wait and see who is staying/leaving before any additions are possible.

anyone brought up DeVon Baker or has he already committed elsewhere? He is a kid who strangely enough was recruited to a crap system that may very well be a great contributor in the Siena Shock (TM) system The Siena Swarm Gorvy-I do believe you're quoting me! Great minds think alike...
