He's got nobody coming back at Le Moyne this is his year to hit the D1 scene. Siena will double and perhaps triple his salary. If Siena offers he'll be in Loudonville faster than you to the beer stand. He just better hope Siena wants him. He turned down Marist and Bryant because he gambled Siena would hire him. Let's see what happens. Not true. It all comes down to money with this candidate. Who knows what the others will require. You, as you usually do, make this sound like a negative - didn't we or don't we all take jobs, promotions, relocations, etc., based in large part on the $'s - it's not like we are all Peace Corps Volunteers. For a young family to pull up roots, even relatively short ones, $'s and potential future risks (both good and bad outcomes) enter the equation and the level of comfort for risk in that family are big deciders. Coaching is a career that few retire from lofty positions in - the majority get let go and drop down down in the ranks of the affluent...

I believe the same thing happened with pitinos son and it worked out for him as he got the Minnesota job. Beilein is not getting a high-major job from Le Moyne though. Pitino, jr was a high-major assistant for several years and was head coach for year at Florida International. Papi has been wrong on everything and he's wrong on this. If Beilein isn't at Siena it's because Siena got someone like Becker (hopefully).

It’s harder to win here than the American east.

Because he's in the Hall of Fame and has won National Championships! Lol And the path taken for him get there was loaded with Franciscan values, right? Where's the Franciscan/Catholic "FORGIVENESS". We should all make sure our house is order before we judge. Just saying. Not implying anything.

Ok, forgive him for having sex in public with an employee as wife. Maybe for plying his team and recruits with strippers and hookers. But even after both scandals, he was caught participating in a conspiracy to divert money from sneaker companies directly to recruits. Something the fbi continues to investigate. Definitely the guy you want leading the program.

BTW allegations stated here, not for personal gain, though given is salary you can say it was but for the players. At least he knew who the players were sleeping with, and guarantee all players do the horizontal mambo. All yes he got them extra cash for lunch, they should be paid anyway. As if all big time programs don’t call it cheat in some way. Little Siena has its share now to. Forgive the posters here say. Saying goes people in glass house shouldn’t throw stones. No one condones his action,he played the game and got caught.

The person trying to get Pitino here, and also has a lot of local influence, told me money isn't an object, and he'd commit to a 6 year deal. So basically his last job. I get all the negatives about this guy, but god damn, it's been a long 8 years and what this guy would bring to the program, AND the conference, would be off the charts!! We NEED A HR. Can't have another single. 10,000 strong every night, and the most talented roster we could ever imagine. Dream big people! 95% of you said he was a pipe dream, and here HE is reaching out to US!?! Make it happen D'Arg.

If D'Argenio wants to go out on a high note this would be the hire. I understand Pitino's reputation is damaged from the Louisville incident but this is too good of an opportunity to pass up. Please get this done D'Argenio!

A few thoughts on Pitino for those concerned about bringing someone so dirty into the program:
Pitino is 100% committed to getting another coaching job. That much is very clear based on that message from HJ and things I’ve heard from others nationally. He’s hungry as hell to prove he can win and take a little of the stain off his resume. He’d work his ass off.
Pitino isn’t as crazy as you think. Siena isn’t the only school that has gotten interest from Pitino— he nearly landed the Rhode Island job, reportedly their AD had a handshake agreement but the president said no.
I think Darg would sign off. I just don’t know that Brother Ed would. This would bring the fans back, lots of good recruits, etc. I’m in on this idea.

I can’t imagine it is D’Arg.
