With a lot of higher profile associate/assistants landing jobs already Cox Steele Sanchez Holloway Howard, Chris Caputo is still available. He’s a guy I consider a top 10 assistant in the country. He makes sense for multiple reasons. I’m just not sure if interest would be mutual or if the price would be too high. Until I here otherwise, he would be my top target.
I’m not exactly enamored GMac at all.
I’m ok with Beilein because I’m sure he fits nicely within our budget.

I hope there is more to it than that and hope they do a full search before making a decision. Let's see who is interested before we sign someone to a multi year contract. The next Siena HC needs to be a home run.

Caputo, Beilein and McNamara! All should be interviewed! And let Paul Hewitt be part of the hiring process!

Head coaching experience should count. That's where Beilein has already demonstrated an aptitude that Caputo and Gmac haven't. This would be a natural progression for Beilin, a roll of the dice on the others. (See Rob Lanier as an example of a great recruiter who couldn't coach.)

Stay away from coaches associated with the fbi probe. Siena needs a squeaky clean coach to follow jp.

Say in this hypothetical situation Caputo is your top guy and he’s interested only at a base of $600k and Beilein is number 2 and available at $325. Siena’s absolute cap is $475k. Who’s getting the job.

However NC State and Kansas were new schools listed in the report I am not saying that Miami is involved, but they are still in that conversation and there is still much to come out. Believe the article stating they were no longer involved was actually laranga’s attorney spinning the newest complaint filed this week.

Back in 2017... ESPN.com's Jeff Goodman indicated the Quinnipiac was willing to nearly double Moore's salary of roughly $500k per year for the right coach.
Tim Cluess gets 511k per year.
King Rice’s extension. Worth?!
Mark Schmidt’s extension. Worth?!

King Rice’s extension. Worth?! Mark Schmidt’s extension. Worth?! What's your point? Siena is never going to get into a salary race with other schools. It just doesn't have a large enough student body to do that (students = income). The men's basketball coach is already the highest-salaried employee at Siena, by far, which in itself is something of an issue. Quinnipiac has almost three times the student enrollment that Siena does. Monmouth has double the enrollment. St. Bonaventure is an A-10 school, so it's just a different situation altogether. Iona's student enrollment is a bit higher than Siena's, but not a whole lot more. Cluess, though, has a proven record of consistently winning, so his salary will reflect that if Iona wants to keep him at the school, which they apparently do. But Siena will not, and maybe cannot, pay a first-time D-I head coach the kind of money you're thinking of in your post. Just doesn't make sense. Siena will offer their coaching choice a competitive salary, along with ancillary benefits. I suspect that most first-time D-I coaching candidates will be happy with the package, and with the opportunity to prove themselves at the D-I level, with the jhope of moving to a higher paying job in a few years.
