PTP has to get his teams to play hard, given the talent he recruits and his woeful coaching ability, it is the only way they can be competitive. Can you imagine if he brought in quality MAAC talent and got them to play this hard? He might have a > .500 record instead of a below one.

Looks like you spoke to soon. It’s a 40 minute game. Richards played well but no way does he do more than Penn over the course of a game. I agree Penn is playing too many minutes, but Richards is a different type of player. He’s an undersized 2g playing point right now. He doesn’t have the handle to play the 1, and he doesn’t make the pass that makes his teammates better consistently Don't know what game you were watching lol Richard has a solid handle and ran the point well. Team struggled but he demonstrated that he is a pg that is being told to score. Penn is a pass first pg. Not a scorer. He can't play any other position on this team. Not a good defender either. And instead of fighting with his own bogs for a rebound Penn should be calling for the outlet pass to start transition. He does not do more than Richard Do you want to pull up the stats for this year and compare turnovers to minutes played? Richards probably has more turnovers per minutes played by an easy margin. I cringe when he has the ball and has to dribble. It’s a constant carry or a travel. As for the rebounding, Patsos wants his guards to rebound. He stresses it every day in practice and every opportunity to the media. Penn had 10 rebounds few games ago and it’s all he talked about. Marquis was a good rebounder and that’s one of the things Patsos likes about him.

we can agree to disagree, but the bottom line is if you think any kid on this Siena team is gratified, you are sadly mistaken. I'm not buying that they are so happy to get 30 min a night and having their current W/L record. 100% correct No question...kids want PT of course but they want to go to the NCAAs.....nobody wants to be on a horrible team with a horrible coach.

So you really think he would have a .500 record with so called maac talent. He should have a.500 with the talent He has known.Sean Miller has talent every year he does crap with it good recruiter so so coach.Mike Brey decent talent every year in probably best conference consistently look what he does. Its about putting what you have in the right situations to succeed. And he by far has done none of that.If anything you should be commending these players to be able to overcome with his lack of coaching. They don't even have a (SLOB)play thanks misspractice

No guarantee he'd be starting here is there? Isn't that what they are all promised until they end up as persona non grata of the day, week, month or season, or have a 'bad practice' and get put on the transfer list anyway?...let's also ask if he would rather be 1.5 games out of first in his league or at the bottom of the standings at this point in the season.

Playing time is certainly an important part of recruiting process, but far from only factor- Jimmy struggled to recruit last year despite fact he was losing 4 1,00 point scorer- of course it didn’t help his cause that he basically left campus a few days after losing in MAAC final and was gone vast majority of off season ( worked NCAA games) trip to Vietnam party time at final 4- trip to Ireland, triple crown races, another trip to Ireland, Saratoga and Cape Cod- good vacation schedule for Jimbo and Mrs.. not so good for Siena fans—Jimmy knew what he was losing and spent entire off season on vacation- so I have zero sympathy for him- he will get what he deserves

There's not a successful leader I know who'd let that shit happen on their watch! Also, forget recruiting for a minute, if SoSo was nearly as committed to the kids as he says he is he'd be at the school A LOT more.

Thoughts on Sammy and Degnan getting the starts over Fisher and Oduro the rest of the year?

Team looks better? What game are you watching or is it because Richards is playing well? He’s not defending and has gotten beat or been in the wrong spot on rotations numerous times. He’s your guy, so I understand where you’re coming from. Don't look worse... have not fallen apart Again Penn is a valuable member of the team. He was over used.. the team is doing fine without him. Others are just as good if not better... they are proving that they can contribute if given a chance Geez what the he-- is your definition of fine? Losing every game? Boy have your expectations falling off the chart!

Thoughts on Sammy and Degnan getting the starts over Fisher and Oduro the rest of the year? I think at this point losing Penn and Horn (regardless of duration) has made a bad team even worse, not sure how shuffling the other deck chairs is going to help. Even if all were healthy we were not winning many more games this season. How Siena can let Patsos continue is beyond me, he clearly hasn’t done his primary job (recruiting) and has left Siena in a precarious situation. Because of a bad contract Siena is going to be forced to make a tough decision financially, all I see is attendance and interest falling off more from here on out. A 500 year next year isn’t going to build any interest. Fans are smart enough to know Patsos is never going to get the job done at Siena.

I read in the paper yesterday Jimmy said team needed to rebound better!Sammy played 2 minutes with 1 rebound, caused a Fairfield player driving the lane to throw up a shot that did not hit the basket because he actually jumped while defending, something other players who get 25+ minutes a game hardly ever do and hence all the easy baskets in the paint!I remember one game when Jimmy was ejected and the (Kid) took over, the first change he made was to take the above mentioned(25+)player out of the game immediately.GO SAINTS!!

Yesterday was the 15th different starting lineup PTP used this season. Does not matter who starts, who plays, who finishes, the results will be the same, a loss. There are a bunch of interchangeable pieces on this team, all about the same talent and skill level. Problem is they are not quality MAAC level players. Look at the box scores of the last two games. PTP's favorites getting lots of minutes without a lot of production. Others when given minutes and not yanked and benched in some cases, when a mistake is made, will contribute. It is just not enough to compete for 40 mins and win games. Take the roster and compare to the better Saints teams over the years, most kids would not be in playing rotation and some would not even be able to make the team.
