GB, do you actually read the comments that you respond to? My comment had nothing to do with turning around the program. It had to do with JP's post game comments and his assessment of the game. On the topic of turning around the program, I have said repeatedly on here, that Siena hired a .500 coach in JP. His record speaks for itself and his performance at Siena has showed nothing different, so I expect nothing more. Until the Siena admin shows that they expect more, which to date they seem complacent with .500, I am not going overreact to every loss or every win. My expectation is that JP and team will average .500 while here. Some years above , some years below. And no, I do not think that is turning around the program. It is an improvement over Mitch, but not where the program could be and should be. Until changes are made, I evaluate each game on it's own merit. I do think this team can get to .500 this year if they clean up the fouling, make free throws and Nico returns to the starting lineup and JP settles in with a set rotation. And yes, I know those are all big ifs. Candidly your synopsis stated above is right on and I believe most, if not everyone would agree with it. There are times where you do sound like an apologist for JP, perhaps just the wording. I agree that the name calling should cease, everyone has an opinion here, most well thought out, some are better than others with putting them in words. Respect opinions, again opinions are like A--- everyone has one, agree to disagree. One caveat, is Papi, he just throws lines out there to try to piss posters off. Than again his right, whom am I. Happy New year to all, keep posting all, perhaps we all will get through to the brain trust running the school

I will also add Nico obviously should have been on court for final play. OK if Jimmy didnt want to run play for Nico just his presence on court would have drawn a lot of attention from Quinny. How does Nico play 19 min and Horn 15? can anyone answer that? Horn struggles playing man to man and we played a lot of man yesterday

Presser? I do not even know what you guys are talking about? As far as throwing kids under the bus, I see it differently. I see it as holding players responsible. As long as it is not done maliciously or disrespectfully, I do not have a problem with a coach naming a specific player for making a mistake or playing poorly.

HD: yes I do, I wanted your direct answer to the question I asked. Thank you. The Siena Administration only understands one thing...how deeply they can get into the pockets of the alumni and supporters. If they understood more than that, they would not have hired JP in the first place. I am most disappointed in the administration because it feels to me like they have pissed in the wind all the work of the COACHES AND PLAYERS THAT BUILT THE BRAND with this hire. Unlike many, I think he is NOT going to reach .500 here and that is all I care about. Loyola this and that, I don't give a rat's butt. He is owned by too many opposing coaches in conferences above and supposedly BELOW the MAAC. The chemistry of this team is eerily similar to Lanier's last season (8-24). And Lanier didn't have a volatile player like Nico to deal with.
I will respectfully disagree that JP is an improvement over Mitch in several areas. Game tape breakdown and strategic planning come to mind first, but more (most) importantly, Mitch's biggest fault as a HC is he couldn't (wouldn't) bullshit and hobnob at Schuyler Meadows or other establishments with the 'Loudonville Lads'.

FYI (in case you don't know) the presser is aired right after the game in the lounge to the left at the exit of the TUC on Pearl Street, lower level. It is also available online. Who is at the table and their demeanor speaks volumes.

I for one do not think this team has talent for 500 or above finish. JP mailed it in recruiting ( well actually he vacationed thru prime recruiting time) This is one of least talented Siena teams in last 30 years

Marist was pitful, Quinnipiac should have saw it coming. I dunno this might be stinky Jimmy this year - so so might be in Vietnam and his twin is coaching. Looks like a 5 win MAAC team and 9 overall.

I would like to think the admin gave Jimmy a number that he has to win this year...
1500 fans at a game is not a good look...Cold weather would not keep the crowd down if Siena was putting a fun and entertaining product on the floor.
I can deal with bad years hell I went through the beyer and lanier years, but a bad product is a different story. The games are not even entertaining.

Sorry, far from a fluffer boys. I call it like I see it and do just follow the crowd like most on here. If you read all my posts you will see that. An that's the last time I am going to directly comment on this Flufffer BS that you guys throw around on here. How about sticking to the topics at hand and stop attacking individuals and calling them names when you disagree with their position. Pretty bush league. Agreed on the names thing. Even with the coach. It's middle school.

I can deal with bad years hell I went through the beyer and lanier years, but a bad product is a different story. The games are not even entertaining. I don't think they'd put a number on it..... you would have won 13 games but get blown out, look terrible with no structure or you could win 10, be fun/competitive in every game and have solid nucleus. I don't think Siena is going to win more than 12 games...the last two games were brutal. The "easiest" road game in the league (on paper) and another team should you beat at home and you lose both? If Siena is start they are getting their ducks in a row now.... Patsos could still theoretically save his job but he will have to pull something out of his hat. Next two games are big - Niagara, Canisius then we go to Iona/Manhattan if we're 0-6 then he has to go 6-6 just to get 10 wins. Siena will have to win a couple of games they're not suppose to if they are to get to 6 MAAC wins. So far we've beaten Bryant (1-14) and Holy Cross (3-10) two very bad teams and two OK teams Hofstra (8-6) and Robert Morris (8-7). I don't see how we win more than 1, 2 games tops on the road - at home we'll be well to go 4-4 in the other 8 - 6 MAAC wins tops - 10 overall - maybe 11 if they win their PIG game. More than enough to blow the whole thing up again.

How does Nico play 19 min and Horn 15? can anyone answer that? Horn struggles playing man to man and we played a lot of man yesterday Nico was out there for the last play. With :10 left we were inbounding the ball and he turned it over, remember? Jump ball, and we were fortunate to get it back. Since Nico looked scared to shoot the whole game and his body language was awful, he pulled him for the new last play. I agree he could have been used as a decoy though. Nico took his first shot with like 2 min to go in the first half?? The 2-16 Friday night must have got to him? He wasnt even looking at the basket.

You mean where Quinny doubled then triple teamed Nico? Didn't have to go to Nico on final play, his mere presence on court would have made a difference, since Dunleavy would have overplayed him Dunleavy just flat out coached Jimmy last min of game. Knowing Quinny had 2 fouls to give Siena waited much too long to run offense. - ok Quinny was lucky with air ball, but lets face it Siena staff was out coached badly last few min of game. It was a loss-- time to move on and win next two at Home. WHatever funk team is in, lets hope they get out of quickly

Shivers got to the rim, I thought the Saints were going to win. Bundu made a great play. I don't have an opinion one way or the other on Nico ... he certainly wasn't bringing much to the table that day. Think they had Horn in the game instead of Nico, no one was cheating off him the way he can shoot the ball.
