He used the analogy that we are sailing on troubled waters - trust me, I raced sailboats for years and you won't win a single race leaving your best sail on the dock....OBTW this team has a huge anchor to overcome (hint: El Capitan in the Mark Thomas sailor suit) so sail selection is crucial! Total cop out when you highlight, on numerous occasions (radio, post game presser, print media, bar stool #11 at Schuyler Meadows, bar stool #1 at HJ's joint), the names of the players your career might be resting on as being the cause for the loss. Talk about confidence builders! I don't ever recall a coach specifically calling out the name of a player who was tagged to make the final play, what the kid didn't do per his direction, and that the play failed....hard to imagine a human so big being able to stoop so low....beyond sad - disgusting comes to mind

Thanks for the articles Tony. Gleamed from the articles Out rebounded, out shot at the foul line, fouled way to much, hockey style wholesale substitutions, best player not on the court for the last shot.
Fisher had a hell of a game. Why was he wide open, could it have been the box and one on Nico? So Nico out last play, lets play devils advocate, Nico in someone will beopen as other team thinks he will be taking the shot. And this guy gets paid 300K a year. Time for AD and Admin to go as well, give the school a chance to survive.

I watched JP's post game conference with Fisher and Penn. I thought the coaches comments were open and honest assessment of the game. Did not have any issues with what he said or how he said it. He was critical of himself and players.

What encourages you to think he knows how to fix all that ails the Siena Saints; chemistry and execution? Please do tell....

The strategy for the last 26.4 seconds was completely wrong, in my opinion. Quinny only had four team fouls, meaning that it still had two common fouls to give without sending Siena to the line for a one-and-one. Siena really needed to force the action to get Quinny to commit those fouls as quickly as possible. Instead, there was virtually no attempt to try to score for over twenty seconds, as a result of which Quinny only committed one foul. With that strategy, Siena was lucky it even got a shot off.
Also agree that Nico had to be on the court for the last possession.

Sorry, far from a fluffer boys. I call it like I see it and do just follow the crowd like most on here. If you read all my posts you will see that. An that's the last time I am going to directly comment on this Flufffer BS that you guys throw around on here. How about sticking to the topics at hand and stop attacking individuals and calling them names when you disagree with their position. Pretty bush league.

Also agree that Nico had to be on the court for the last possession. You are absolutely correct - with one minor tweak - there was no strategy involved - JP was focused on an object lesson for Nico and his staff apparently baled on him by not suggesting the obvious - there were many, many coaches for the day in the not so cheap seats, well aware of the situation and what had to be done to give us a legit chance - would have been beyond smart to have Nico out there, the three most likely threats (Shivers, Fisher, Nico) spread and make the same call for Shivers - as it was run, there was no spacing between him and Fisher which let Fisher's guy help and hence the block - you would think a coach as large as JP is would have first hand knowledge of how important space is....

So, hoopdad, what makes you think Patsos & Co is going to turn this around? Or are you saying you don't think that he can?

If you aren't able to see the obvious flaws in JP's presser you need a vision check at least....he threw two players off the charter and is now throwing his best players under the nearest bus...his endgame play had serious flaws, easily exploited by the young head coach on the opposite end of the court

GB, do you actually read the posts that you respond to? My post had nothing to do with turning around the program. It had to do with JP's post game comments and his assessment of the game.
On the topic of turning around the program, I have said repeatedly on here, that Siena hired a .500 coach in JP. His record speaks for itself and his performance at Siena has showed nothing different, so I expect nothing more. Until the Siena admin shows that they expect more, which to date they seem complacent with .500, I am not going overreact to every loss or every win. My expectation is that JP and team will average .500 while here. Some years above , some years below. And no, I do not think that is turning around the program. It is an improvement over Mitch, but not where the program could be and should be. Until changes are made, I evaluate each game on it's own merit. I do think this team can get to .500 this year if they clean up the fouling, make free throws and Nico returns to the starting lineup and JP settles in with a set rotation. And yes, I know those are all big ifs.

Hang in there Hoopdad- You recently started posting a lot so guys dont know you. When you first started posting I thought you were a fluffer also, and while I often dont agree with you, I certainly dont think you are a fluffer- you fit in more with the apologist crew you mentioned twice you thought the presser was fine, so apparently you are fine with Jimmy throwing kids under the bus --
