Jimmy could jump ship if a decent tv gig came along that allowed him to do other things on the side.

The last game it was like a ghost town in the arena minus the tumbleweed. The administration is in for a big surprise if they think this will last with the current success level. I’ll get season tickets at UA. I think that program is on the move up and it should be an exciting ride. I’m hoping for a change after this year, if not I’m probably gone. Really there is no excuse. I can’t imagine the school could not raise the money needed to get a fresh start. That's worth a discussion. How do you raise money like that? It has to be done TOTALLY under the covers. If you're not prepared to pull the trigger regardless then you CAN"T let that leak at all. Plus, his contract is thru 2021, correct? I know MTS will disagree but I wouldn't be surprised if all of it is guaranteed. If not, I have to believe that a most of 2 more years is. I wish I was wrong, but common sense says the guy's agent/lawyer would have to protect him for a good portion of it. There's a lot going on at the higher ed level with the free SUNY tuition that private schools have to be EXTREMELY careful. The competition for that dollar is getting tighter and tighter. I heard a couple of different things. I don't know what really to believe anymore. I can't imagine Siena was stupid enough to guaranteed his contract through 2021 but maybe they are. As Tony said if you can't fire Patsos after this year fire D'Arg and bring in a new AD and allow him or her to start the groundwork for the next head men's basketball coach at Siena. You have to give your fan-base something that signals basketball is a top priority otherwise you will lose another 1,000 or so season tickets. If Patsos is guaranteed through 2021 Siena owes him three more years which probably means he's the coach the next two years at least. It's possibly at that point the damage is too much and Siena never recovers fully. Very sad situation happening to a once very successful mid-major program. But they did it to themselves no one else to blame. They committed suicide to the program. I don't believe they meant to do they're just incompetent. This is why D'Arg and other athletic department people should be fired after the season. However I doubt that even happens.

This all makes sense, but makes makes for a long 3 years. And it takes a lot of restraint on the admins if there is a 'decent' year., which is probably inevitable. There lies the problem for people who want to see the program grow. Do we hope for failure so that immediate changes are made? People like Papi, and other apologists don’t care if we are back in the arc pounding salt. Let’s just hope the problem isn’t hire up in the administration. If this is the new normal maybe we have even more to worry about. People won't like this but if you told me under 10 wins Patsos is gone then I hope it happens. But since he's almost certainly coming back just root the team on and hope for a miracle (that somehow he is released)

Siena is not eating three years and probably shouldn’t eat one so might as well root them on. I know one thing, I won’t be ripping players like some people on here, they get enough of that from the head coach.

I can’t imagine the school could not raise the money needed to get a fresh start. It was a Friday night before a holiday weekend, students on break, the weather at side was awful, snow and slippery roads and the game was on TV. Do you think that might had something to do with the low attendance? Let's keep things honest and in perspective here. UA teams are boring to watch. Games are boring to attend. Facility is sub-par. Go enjoy that half empty arena. Not fun in my opinion. When was the last time you were at a UA game? Much better game is being played there than at the TUC. Shitty arena ya, but the scoreboard at SEFCU is better than the one at the TUC and Oh ya they have a set starting 5 and a decent coach. Look I'm a Siena fan since the 50's and the state of the Mens BB program is the worst I've seen it.

Contract through 2021, but how much is it guaranteed? Was led to believe that buying JP out this year was to great a leap and after this year anything is possible, especially if the big boys have had enough of the ineptness. Question is why now is he recruiting so hard if he thinks he can be let go, bought out at the end of the season. I haven't seen the contract, nor do I believe anyone else has. He has been warned twice of his antics, we all know that s fact. Seen enough employment contracts to know that the institution always leaves themselves a way out with certain clauses.
This season continues to progress at the rate it is currently don't be surprised he is bought out. Only challenge is if the AD is also terminated.

All of it is guaranteed. I assume patsos is the same, just like it was for Mitch. Sure there are termination clauses but not for mere poor performance.

Poor performance no, ethical, moral , professional behavior yes there are outs. State contracts mostly lean to the employee, again JP has been taken to the carpet at least twice. If s school really wants to get rid of a coach for poor performance don't think they won't go the the other clauses and use them to force the coach out. Which coach from the south was let go for swearing at a kid, it was JP friend from SC?

We saw him nearly come to blows in the air shakes game and nothing happened to my recollection. Don’t see Siena going that route but I have no inside knowledge.

But if you want someone gone all it takes is a little fortitude. The coach in question knows once called out his time is up, so he/she would negotiate the best deal possible, can't let their rep suffer for future employment. Game that is played all the time
