In other words kids are soft in today's world. Spoiled and constantly told how good they are but when challenged and told otherwise they go into a shell. Some will tell Mommy and bolt some will show some balls and accept the challenge and help the team. Trust me these kids know everything about the coach, college and the community before choosing Siena. Then you have kids who just aren't as good as they think or advertised and they move on. You don’t have to kiss someone’s a$$ but you don’t have to kick it either. As usual you just don’t get it, there’s a colossal difference between stern and abusive but hey whatever fits your troll agenda. The one thing you’re right about is that these kids know all about Rex and the program. That’s why he rarely if ever gets mid D1 ready targets. They want nothing to do with him, 3-4 legit mid major level D1 players recruited specifically to Siena in 5 years tells ya all ya need to know.

Maybe you and your posse can start an investigation and see which players have been abused. If that's the case you should get your wish. If not find another angle.

Big Fan: I had four kids play HS sports so have seen a lot of coaches yell at players in practice and games. What Patsos did to Poole that time wasn't a Coach being angry. It was a bizarre personal attack.

There is a difference between stern and abusive, yes. Many coaches - MANY - cross that line with regularity. What is perceived as abusive has a sliding scale based on the win/loss record, however.
Had the Saints won that game against Iona last year and gone 7-6 so far this year, we aren't having this conversation. No "confessional" thread, no "who's the next coach" thread.etc. That's my opinion, but probably also a fact.
Another fact: The Saints aren't winning - so here we are. Every negative event/sound bite is spun to add more fuel to the "fire everyone!" agenda. Not everyone who posts something positive is a Jimmy fan, but most that do are labelled "fluffers".
I'm on record here - Jimmy is NOT the guy to get us where we want to go, IN MY OPINION. I'll leave it at that.
I don't believe that most of what is said on here has the power to influence the Siena administration in any way - but, as a public forum, I DO think that the things said here have the potential to hurt recruiting.

It was a bizarre personal attack. It was bizarre, yes. Still, can't imagine that leaving a lasting scar on anyone. Yes, I was there. Was also there for a little tantrum with a ball kicked down the court while yelling at someone that they weren't "in the NBA"! Jimmy definitely has "bizarre" in his repertoire at any given moment. I still do not consider that Poole moment as anything that would leave a scar or send a player running for the door. Guess I have a thicker skin for such things than some.

I think most of this is accurate, just keep in mind the “fluffers” were making personal attacks to the “haters” also. As for recruiting, any player should ask themselves whether they would like to play in an actual arena for a fan base that cares enough to put up to 10,000 in the seats and post on message boards etc or play in front of 2,000 distentered fans in a gym.

I heard Poole was hoping JP would hire him as he didn’t have a lot of job options - not sure how true it is

I agree to some degree but I don't think even if we had won the MAAC title last year and were 7-6 things would be a ton more different here. Remember while going to the NCAAs is obviously the goal last year was very disappointing - it's more than three days in March. Had we beaten Iona we're likely a 15/16 seed and get blown-out. Siena with four 1,000 point seniors went 15-16 in the regular season last year. That's bad. Now if you want to say if Jimmy went 25-10 won the MAAC, got a 13 seed and was 7-6 right now the mood would be different I completely agree with that.

By far the hardest in the MAAC. No one even close. As for the ranking in the NCAAs, you guys sound like lotto winners that are pissed there's only 20 million in the pot! Lol. I'd be happy as hell just to make the NCAAs from a tough conference like the MAAC over the past several years. #spoiledrotten

Siena's would be next. (Your #'s above is close to what Realtime RPI shows. Using their Power Rankings, Siena's is about 40 spots better than Iona's and 60 better than Marist.) Interesting thing I just saw, Wagner (Rider's "best" win) has an RPI in the 70's, but their best win is over #223 Fairfield. Not sure I would agree a 5-4 Wagner is really the 71st best team in the country.
