The money that Siena would owe him is the difference, if any, between his new salary and the annual payment - should he land a job paying more than Siena owes, Siena's tab would be zero - now if Bryant hired him for $1, Siena would get the $1 reduction....a long vacation is more likely the option that So-so would glom onto - when the Siena $'s start to dry up, he'd start looking in earnest and I'm guessing those looks would be orders of magnitude more intense than his recruiting efforts.... If Jimmy is fired can't he collect all the money that Siena owes him and take a job somewhere else and collect that additional income? Why would he agree to take less than he's owed to work another job? Because MTS lives in La-La land. No one in the world would give up all that money. Especially as a favor to someone that is firing them! lol

So you're saying his money from Siena is guaranteed, only if he doesnt get another job? I could see him taking the Siena money owed and trying to get on TV for at least a couple years.... ....then getting the Maryland job when Turgeon gets fired

That's the way I understand it - now if there is a clause re a job other than coaching, I really don't know how it would work. Someone may remember what happened when Beyer left and took a Big 10 Assistant's job reportedly paying more than he got as HC at Siena - he would not have gotten any money from Siena then - the Coach's Club didn't delve into those details way back then, LOL....

All depends if he has an "offset" clause in the buyout. Only then is the amount of the new job deducted. It has been a big issue with NFL first round contracts as only in recent years have such provisions been insisted on by teams.

Yes that was always my sense, he never really did "get" what Siena is about , or didnt really care. He pretty much coached, recruited and treated fans same way here in Albany as he did at Loyola. Nobody really cared what he did at Loyola as long as they were competitive. To say we played a NEC team on our level is pretty bad-- coach speak or not with complete sincerity Tony would you give me a thumbnail of 'get'
