Jimmy has a lot of firable offenses but I agree, if you are the face of the program, and your comparing our program ( not our current win-loss record) to the Bryant program, you have to go.
If your that guy, you just don't have the competitive juices, the drive to win, both on the court and on the recruiting path to demand the respect, the swag, and confidence that is necessary to have at Siena.
You need to know and expext without much fanfare that you will always win that battle that we need as being the top money earner and the face of the program at the school.
How about...."though I respect Bryant; they are a first class program, we should win that game. We should win and we did win so thats a good thing moving forward. We should be beating lots of teams that we have not been beating of late. A win is a win though so we will graciously take the win but we have to really start getting back to the programs historical ways of not only expecting to win but taking their best shot and actually beating lots of teams both in the MAAC and outside the MAAC that we used to beat on a consistent basis and should start to consistently beat them again.
If you do this and then add in getting some victories against some programs who you aren't supposed to beat and go 70/30 or 60/40 against toss up teams when it all shakes out, you should have a pretty good year under your belt. That's what this win will help contribute to getting back to. That's what every win will help contribute getting ua back to as a program."

Comparing Loyola to Bryant is dumb to compare them to Siena is utterly idiotic.
He just pissed on all the greats that built this program. At least Mitch was a big part of the best run in program history as an assistant. JP will go down as Siena’s most hated coach.

You touched on one big thing...a hated coach..for what he has done to the program and the way he has done it... mostly the way he has done it...we were pissed at Lanier, Buyler and ever Mitch but I don't think we hated them...i have evolved to the point where i can proudly say I am a "hater"...

The problem with attacking Patsos's comment is.... that its true. Despite the history of the program, it has been managed into obscurity / low D1 status Maybe JP was hired specifically for this purpose. exactly... although he seems to be bottoming out this year, so not toeing that .500 line.

Quote from JP in Singelais’ game story: “We played a team on our level, and that’s okay.” If JP believes Siena is on Bryant’s level, that demonstrates his lack of judgment. If he believes it is okay for Siena to be on Bryant’s level, then he has Demonstrated he has no regard for the history of the program and has no business running the program. With a comment like that, it is past time for him to go. He has insulted the program and its fans. Bryant coach Tim O’Shea is “retiring” it was announced. Perfect job for Jimbo with his Rhode Island ties. Bryant could use a guy like Jimmy and the NEC is much more his speed. I really think he’d do well there and his salary there would help Offset what Siena owes him. Get it done!

Why would he give up hundreds of thousands of dollars hes owed from Siena?

The money that Siena would owe him is the difference, if any, between his new salary and the annual payment - should he land a job paying more than Siena owes, Siena's tab would be zero - now if Bryant hired him for $1, Siena would get the $1 reduction....a long vacation is more likely the option that So-so would glom onto - when the Siena $'s start to dry up, he'd start looking in earnest and I'm guessing those looks would be orders of magnitude more intense than his recruiting efforts....

Bryant is basically Loyola 15 years ago. Why would he do it - he doesn't want to get fired (it's happening in 3 weeks or in a year) Siena would obviously have to pay the difference and I'm sure they gladly do it to save money and get him the hell out of here!

If Jimmy is fired can't he collect all the money that Siena owes him and take a job somewhere else and collect that additional income? Why would he agree to take less than he's owed to work another job?

I do think any money made would come off...so if Siena owes him say $400K for next year and Bryant pays him $200K Siena is on the hook for only $200K.

Isn't it more like when a small school (Siena) has a valuable commodity that a bigger program wants to poach bigger program and small school negotiate the 'buy-out' then lowers or eliminates the $$ liability of small school?

Wasn't Hewitt collecting his full buyout from Georgia Tech on top of his full salary from George Mason?
