Nico should have been on the court for the last 4/5 minutes of the game. Yanking him in and out was just another sign the Pastos is clueless.

Regardless of the player...
Coach makes player a Captain Coach tells player to shoot it 25x a game Coach starts player Coach tells player not to shoot so much Coach yanks player in and out of game like a yo-yo Coach no longer is starting player and makes him 6-8th man
Who’s the schizophrenic?

I’m not defending JP, but it’s hard to coach a kid whom the fans don’t perceive as an adult. He is imo. So the coach has to walk on egg shells around the kids, the school administration and the fan base. Not exactly a job that I would want. The problem with JP is that at the end of the day you’re the CEO and if it is not working you’re not working. A tough job for sure. So I don’t think JP is a schizophrenic, I think he’s not recruiting kids that are malleable. Look at Fran’s kids. Other than Ubiles, they were very disciplined kids. (Ubiles was a great Saint, for the record.)

Think about patsos at the helm with all of Frans players. Tell me you think onions double order ever happens. Or tat makes six threes in a row and goes globetrotting. Now put Fran in charge of all patsos players. Forget recruiting. Does anybody truly believe that these players would have four out of five losing seasons with no n tournament appearances?

No question we would’ve won 25 and went to the NCAAs last year. And maybe the year before that too.

Totally agree with you Gorvvy. Well put. When you switch them out on either side of the coin, Fran ends up on top by a landslide every time.
I used to defend JP. How wrong I was.

You’re preaching to the choir. This aligns with how I felt about Tommy Mitchell. That kid at least got to dance as a Freshman, but boy was his career wasted. I feel the same way about Wright and to some extent Javion as I think they would have flourished under Fran (or Becker or -gulp Will Brown). I feel so sad for these kids and their families...all of them. The ones who got hit in the ass with the revolving door at the ARC and the ones who stay(ed).

Tommy Mitchell, a prime example. That was an nba prospect but you sure wouldn’t know it from his time at Siena.

This line for Nico our biggest rivalry game attendance wise, let alone any game just doesn't cut it coach(Evan Fisher got 31 minutes vs. Nico''s 26...and Sammy Friday''s 15...what a joke): ...for your Captain, your teams best player, who does not even get the start, who despite your bad coaching plan, your horrible game time coaching deisions, has already in his first two years, bailed your bad coaching out on a number of occasions, who was the programs all time leading scorer after year one, is an upperclassmen on the world's youngest team according to you, who competes mentally as well as physically with the best of them, and according to you...., should be getting 25 shots a game. 25 Clareth, Nico....... FG/FGA. 3PTFG/FGA FT/FTA OR DR TR PF TP 4-8 2-5 0-0 0 3 3 3 10 A T B S MIN 2 3 0 0 26 So please just stop messing with his head coach. Please. He was not hurt. He was not in foul trouble. He was not out of shape or not hustling. Yet he does not start. He does not play during some critical times in the game. He did not get 35 plus minutes. He for whatever the reason is, just does not get the respect Marquis or Brett got, and his upside potential compared to both those players potential is so much better...so much higher. Instead you mess with his head. You try to control him and all your players out on the court during the game way too much. You makecthem think too much rather than play too much when there needs to be a balance. You tighten them up. And when you punish them for making a mistake rather than building them, you are layer by layer, peeling away their confidence and their ability to attain the upside potential. I love Nico, but if you are putting this all on the coach you are not watching the games. Click Clack saw it, read his comments about Nico. You know why he likes the Oduro, Fisher, and Penn. My guess is that they listen and appreciate playing on a team. My problem with the coach is that we seem to be have problems with execution. It’s could be his coaching and/or his recruiting, looks like it is both. I love Nico, he’s a very talented player, but like many kids we have seen under JP I don’t expect him to reach his potential. Another guess why Oduro, Fisher and Penn listen and are happy and team players. As freshman you get 30 plus minutes a game regardless of results more Prince then Penn and Fisher always gets his minutes too regardless of performance. That would make me happy too. Maybe another reason why Nico's not happy. Three freshmen starting and he's sitting. Jp is playing some way to much and some not at all. It's going to be a long year.

Here is the main question.... if your team has no offensive identity, has really no set plan going in (none that I can see) and you have ONE player on the team who can basically score and keep you in games, why in the world is he on the bench to start a game? Siena was down 10-0 before Nico even saw the court Monday. Yes he is maddening at times and may force too much, but he is the only legit guy who can score on his own... on a team that needs help from the opening tip, how he is on the bench is more and more a joke every game. Maybe Jimmy's point is the team can lose with or w/o him... if so, good work. Otherwise it is a gimmick that is all together dumb.

I have questioned this since the first game Nico didn't start. I am one of the last to defend JP...but think about your question....

Really think about this.....there might be more than meets the eye; Patsos might be a total ass, but he isn't a dumb ass. In fact, I think most of the time it is his ADHD and high level of intelligence that gets him into trouble. I'm willing to bet (as Paul Harvey would say) 'we don't know the rest of the story'. It would go a long way into the flip flop handling we have seen of Nico since late summer...

GB, if that is the case with Nico, AGAIN, well the chaos and for lack of a better title "high school drama" that has taken place over the last few years is as much of an indictment on JP's ability to lead this team, as is his other talents, which are sorely lacking.
He seems to thrive in that environment, but does no good to the team or the product on the court.
This regime has to be over. There is literally not one thing good from his 5 years here... the CBI ended up costing Siena more then they knew then (extension)

sky...I am just saying that none of this makes any sense to me but totally agree that the CBI 'cost' more than it was worth in resulting in extension!
