If your best player doesnt start, or get 35 min a night, maybe some of you could think outside the box and figure out some other reasons why this is happening. 50/50 he finishes the season with the team. He's become that big of a distraction. This is a kid who had a phenomenal freshman year, completely neglected sophomore year after surgery. Some BS leave of absence when he just needed more time to recover. Yet still helped get the team in the semi’s. He should’ve left in April but was told he’s the senior laden among other things. Now the coach in his desperate attempts to try and get a win, he decides to play down his best player! In all essence a coach at this level should have the tools to get his team going and win some games. If he’s a distraction or so troubled why keep him another year? So there's the answer...Nico and his handlers don't like losing yet they picked a coach with a track record that is mediocre and is known for stunts and erratic behavior. Like Wright, his inner circle is now sorry he didn't exit after his Sophomore year. Unlike Wright he is silly enouGh to jaw at the opponents bench during the games as reported Saturday. Staff has no clue how to handle him. Another season, another distraction...

He’s on top of grades, and is a team player no doubt! He’s the 1st on jumping up and down, slapping 5’s throughout game. If someone gets hurt he’s also the 1st one to get to his teammate! So, that can’t be the issue! Well then you've answered the question. We re back to square one. Why would a coach struggling to win games, not utilize his best talent for 35 min a night? It's a mystery.... Having seen him play its really not a mistery...problem is he will just as likely get you a win as a loss. He'd an unreliable player... On Saturday if he didn't hit a transition 3 he was useless... Campbell completely bottled him up. I'm not sure he had a single point in the half court. He didn't run offense... He tried to take Campbell off the bounce and got stopped and stripped every single time. He doesn't play in the flow of the offense. No question he's a talented kid... No question. Edit : he did hit that once foul line jumper.

WB plan was to bottle him up , he he succeeded, he couldn't move without Nichols getting help. WB came right out and said that was his plan. It's a tough situation for all the players right now with the coach knowing his job is on the line

There is no game to come to him. He is reliant on an offensive flow and there isn't one because there is only the helter skelter flex that you are dependent on Freshmen to run. But I agree having been through it with Lanier and Mitch that the kids are behind the eight ball when the coach is a disaster looking for a place to happen.

Nico needs to mix up his offense. Cannot rely on the 3 and jumpers all the time. Take the ball to the hoop. If the team would get out an run a fast break once in a while that would help too. Agree he is much better when he plays within the flow of the game and does not force things. When he trusts in his team and plays as a member of a team, he and the Saints are much better offensively. If you told me going into the game that he would be limited to 7 points and the Saints would be in a position to win the game at the end and only lose by 5 I would not have believed it. I still think there is upside to this team and if they can pull it together for MAAC play, season may be interesting.

From 25 shots a game (from the coach mouth) to limited playing time and pine seating!!! The Freshman got this..... apparently!

ballermom21- going to tell you the same thing I told PPC.....the track record here spoke for itself so I am really wondering where the trust that Nico's potential (I do believe he is talented) would be filled under this coach? I just don't get it. I'm not thinking that he came to Siena with a goal to graduate and enter the workforce? His 'brand' is not, I repeat not going to be developed under a coach who a- doesn't know how to handle him off court b- doesn't run any consistent offense/rotations that will allow him to develop a well rounded game c- sends schizophrenic messages as previously noted (25 shots a game to limiting minutes, especially at end of last game d- makes him a captain with a virtually non existent bench riding transfer...

In my opinion, if a coach doesn’t have children of his own..... he will not be an effective coach to anyone’s son! Bottomline!

I wish more plays would be drawn for him to move/drive to the hoop more. A facet of his game I would like to see expanded. Some of that may be him, but I also believe some of it is on the coach.

What's going on with Nico? He leaves again I think that's enough to terminate Jimbo right there.
