Alan Dershowitz,Liberal and Harvard Law School Professor
..warned that many of those tearing down Confederate and other statues are trying to take America down with them.
"Antifa is a radical anti-American, anti-free market, communist, socialist, hard, hard left censorial organization that tries to stop speakers on campuses,"
Dershowitz noted that some statues put up during the Civil Rights era were meant to intimidate. Those should perhaps be moved to museums, he suggested, to teach students about how statues can be used for bad purposes.
However, doing "what Stalin did, just erasing history and rewriting it to serve current purposes does poses a danger" and amounts to "educational malpractice,"

It is American history, a very sad part of it. I just don't believe people who sought to destroy this country should be honored for doing so--you wouldn't disagree with that, would you? Nor do I think Germany should erect statues to honor Nazi leaders. Understood. But couldn't (shouldn't) these types of statues be used like the concentration camps (Auschwitz, etc) are used in Europe. Symbols of death starker than a statue and people visit them to remember. Will it take some educating? Sure, but use it properly and minds will eventually follow, rather than trying to erase it from memory/history. You bring up the fact that noone should acknowledge (your word - honor) someone who rebelled and fought against the Republic. Obviously different specifics, but B Franklin & G Washington were considered traitors to their 'country' at the time. They are recognized in England. www.benjaminfranklinhouse.org/site/sections/default.htmalmostchosenpeople.wordpress.com/2012/05/25/george-washington-in-trafalgar-square/

..........In light of the current election results, we need to make a drastic move and demonstrate that California is not in favor of the racist, misogynistic, and archaic principles displayed by the current GOP candidate. We need to PROGRESS, not REGRESS and America will NOT be great under the misguided leadership of a president with no commitment to his own so-called values.
this is calexit
gov jerry brown last month when explaining why his state would not acknowledge federal law, and become a sanctuary state, he stated as the fifth largest economy in the world calexit could become a reality
it happened before, it can happen again '82

"I am favor of leaving Confederate memorials in place instead of removing them from public spaces."
"We don't want to forget our history, but we want to see how far we have come and how far we can go together. There's a scripture: 'be not overcome evil, overcome evil with good.' So if you erase your history, you'll forget it and you may have to repeat it. So we do not want to erase our history."

In other words, I have no idea where this is coming from or any details behind any of this. Who's the racist GOP candidate? Do you mean Trump (he's not a candidate) or somebody else? Is there really a movement for California to secede? Are you in favor?

It was a fantastic game. Pitt blew a 21 point lead, but an interception in ot sealed the victory.

There is a better word than stupid, trendy "calexit", it is called secession, South Carolina gave it a try in April, 1861 in the name of "states rights" almost two years before the emancipation proclamation was signed by that dopey, ill-suited, republican President, Abraham Lincoln. Of course the secession led to a bunch of statues honoring guys who fought for what they believed in. Maybe governor moonbeam, and "aunti maxine" et.al. will get statutes too one day in the name of states rights, so someone else can tear them down.

Youngstown last beat Albany by a similar score in 2012, 31-24.
