Final player efficiency ratings and minutes played in conference play this year:
Long - 20.6 (658) Ogunyemi - 20.2 (654) Bisping - 17.9 (662) Wright - 17.5 (689) Friday - 16.9 (52) Clareth - 15.3 (320) Richard - 12.4 (177) Smithen - 7.9 (283) Shivers - 7.0 (323) Huerter - 5.1 (29) Fisher - 2.7 (128)
In case it wasn't abundantly clear from watching the games that every Fisher minute should go to Friday these numbers make it even more obvious. Real shame that Richard hasn't recovered from the injury. With him playing like he was earlier in the conference season as the 6th man and Friday as the 7th man Siena would have a good shot in the tourney. If Shivers has to be counted on to be the 6th man it is going to be a lot more difficult. And impossible if Fisher is seeing minutes.
FWIW, Patrick Cole's PER was 23.7 in conference play this year. Granted that is in the MEAC but his team went 13-1 in conference.

Assuming Nico is back (who knows at this point) he might have to average 25-28 PPG to keep Siena competitive.

But there is no way that JO should rank above Bisping or Wright.

While I agree stats aren't everything- you see enough of them, they start to make sense. Final regular season plus minus numbers- the 4 seniors all had positive numbers. Nico's final number is negative, its much better than it was before he went on vacation. Jimmy playing EF as much as he did borders on incompetence- it really made Jimmy look like an a$$hole. His final number of -8 was one of worst numbers in MAAC for players with over 240 min. Shows you how weak our bench is- and again doesnt make for any confidence in next year- if anything shows me how weak we are after the 4 seniors
Lavon Long +2.5 Javion O +1.8 Brett Bisping +0.8 Marquis Wright +0.6 Kadeem Smithin -2.3 Sammy Friday -2.6 Nico -2.8 Ahsante Shivers -3.1 Khailil Richard -4.0 Evan Fisher -8.0

Just wondering, to clarify, in your opinion everybody gets a trophy, no one takes responsibility , there are no winner or losers? I agree with a lot what you post just want to make sure I am reading correctly.

Regarding Nico, we all know he is a gunner, puts up poor shots, however how did you account for having him to put up poor shots in the last seconds of the shot clock due to the abysmal offense JP runs. Seems if he is in the game the team looks for him to take the shot. Seems that way anyway, perhaps not just wondering if it was or can that number be included for him as well as others.

So I 'flipped the script' as the not so young anymore-sters say.

But there is no way that JO should rank above Bisping or Wright. It is generally easier for a big guy to be more efficient, especially on a team that shoots the three ball poorly. Bisping and Marquis both had some pretty bad stretches during MAAC play too. I also think you have to look at the defensive drop off when you take Ogunyemi out of the game and lose that shot blocking ability. Bisping can do absolutely nothing defensively but take the charge and is a huge drop-off defensively when he has to play center. While I would still agree with you that Ogunyemi was probably our fourth best player in conference play I don't think the gap between the top 4 is very big.

All things in context. I have been "running numbers" as a professional for over 40 years, I can do it with the best of them. Early in the season JP had EF trying 3 pointers they both thought he could make. He didn't. They are "baked into" the numbers and with sparse minutes have an out-sized effect. I get it that a lot of you do not particularly appreciate what a guy like EF can contribute. I hate to sound like "an apologist" for the kid, but I like the intensity with which he plays AND his leadership on the floor. Watch him sometime on defense, recognizing the other team's set and "directing", that counts. Hate him all you want, I am rooting for him.
