We will find the National Bureau of Standards example of a real optimist in today's game story in the TU. JP says he's been confident all season that the Saints have a three game run in them for the MAAC! Really? What, pray tell evidence is there to support that - hope he's right but....... Maybe its his plan not to coach the team for the tourney!

Wish I could "like" this post more than one time...Absolutely my thoughts on the game tonight and the team/staff in general. Despite the dire predictions of the team statistician, the man defense was as effective as any could be. It was a late 4 pt loss on the road to an EQUALLY talented (as demonstrated by the score) team that has won 14 in a row. I strongly dislike the "stand around offense" until the final 10 seconds that leads to shot clock violations, but that to me is execution, not coaching. The game was lost on turnovers, many unforced, a few the result of lazy passes. This tem can beat Monmouth on 17 hours rest. I disagree on the effectiveness of the man defense. Siena played way to much of it in the first half and it drained their energy for the second. Marquis was sick all week, hardly practiced and having him chase defenders around obviously did him in when we needed him on the court at the end. Siena's lack of depth, TO's and Monmouth s advantage at the foul line was the difference in this game. Monmouth has 4 guys that can kill a zone, Robinson has range 7 feet behind line, he has made 83- three pointers and shoots over 40% from 3 point land, Hornbeak also has made 68 3's and he too shoots well 45% from three, Seaborn has 63 made 3 pointers and Stewart has 30. Siena has nobody who has made even 45 three's this year. With 4 guys that can shoot-- Monmouth is very difficult to play zone against. Odds are at least 1 maybe all 4 of their shooters will be on. Besides it wasn't man to man that cost Siena game last night- it was lack of depth and 19 turnovers. We can agree to disagree about the zone. Bottom line here is Monmouth is more talented and and has vastly superior depth- for Siena to beat them they have to play perfect game and have Monmouth play bad- 25-5 teams seldom lose to 500 ballclubs

Last season Hawks had 17 conference wins, Sunday Vs Iona they go for win #18- add in fact gap between Monmouth and rest of MAAC is greater this year than last- it will take a huge upset to stop them in MAAC tournament

hoopsforever - I applaud your support and positive posts. Rest assured, all of us will, as we have always done, let our departing seniors know how much we appreciate their four or five years playing for the school we all love. To suggest otherwise is disturbing. There is disappointment, frustration and some anger but it is NOT focused or directed at ANY of the players, quite the contrary, IMO. I can't see how any kid can play for this head coach. Team gave it their best last night against unquestionably the best team in the conference. I hope we get a chance to continue that play against the Hawks in the friendly confines of our home court. Time will tell. Misspractice, I always enjoy reading your posts. Thanks for your words, not just in the quote, but in general. I wasn't trying to point fingers as much as I was trying to keep all of us in the supportive mode in terms of our Siena kids. And- thanks for your support of these kids always.

You are so frigging off base it isn't funny. You just refuse to see that those of us who have had it up to their eyeballs with all the bullshit have loved and supported this program and ALL of the students who have been a part of it long before you were around. You are just pissed as hell because we care too much to walk away totally. We'll be here after this regime is gone, to help put the train back on the rails to being a program that is respected within the conference on and off the court.
