I highly doubt there will be coaching change.Just think about it from a finical standpoint!! Unless someone has the money for a buyout ?! I'm gonna be pretty finical about the next coach as should Siena!!!!!!

This team has plenty of decent 3 point shooters. The shots will fall eventually. They just lost two games making only one 3 in both of those games. One game a two point loss and last night a four point loss. Winning on the road is tough, but I guess Siena should win all road games or the coach and AD aren't doing their jobs and must be let go. Only on this board. What a joke. It's all about the maac, Siena has a huge advantage playing at the TUC, just hang in there. Pretty sad when MTS bails after 10 games. 3-0 at home. Where has the #1 fan indiansant been? Is he ok? Or is he sick of seeing all the childish behavior out here. I'm still here, just not reading the board that much. Yes, I got tired of reading the board, especially after losses. The games, even the losses, don't seem as bad it you don't read the board afterward (from my perspective anyway). I just stick to what I can do to help out the team and cheer them on. If I knew how to help/fix things, I'd try and talk with the coach/coaching staff, AD, President, Board of Dirs. Some posters actually have good/reasonable ideas that could help; just think they need to talk to the right people who can implement their suggestions (like help Jimmy coach, scout other teams, recruit, etc. better; help D'Arg find the next coach; help the President/Board of Dirs find the next AD; etc.). I'm sure they'd be appreciative since we all want the program to not only succeed but to be great. I can't help with any of those (outside of my area of expertise) so I'll just stick to what I can do to help, and that's continue to support the coaches, team, admin, program.

Yes shots will fall eventually but you are conveniently ignoring all the other intangibles of dysfunction that have been a staple every season under this ever changing supervising cast and players. No successful program enters the arena with an OK to lose this one mentality. That isn't the way valuable coaches operate and it certainly isn't the way to build a sustainable competitive mid major program. If that isn't the goal then man up and move it all back to campus, drop a level or two and expand the academic profile of the COLLEGE. Oh wait...we've already made the decision to be in the business of basketball over education. Papi's a clown, he's just stirring the pot.

3-0 at home against teams with a combined 7-13 record. 2-5 Cornell is down this year. 0-7 Arkansas pine bluff is junk and 5-3 Fairfield has wins against sacred heart, dartmouth, army, wagner and rider, losses to siena, Loyola and bucknell. Suffice it to say... Nothing remotely redeeming.
Siena has bucknell, hofstra, vermont and canisius the next 4. That will be an opportunity to turn a corner or cement a junk season

MAAC KenPom:
Monmouth 83 Iona 100 Siena 111 FF 178 SPU 190 Rider 195 Canisius 206 Manhattan 226 Quinnipiac 258 Niagara 279 Marist 289
Siena is 85 rated on offense, 163 on defense and 344 in "Luck" (this makes sense we've been bad and unlucky)
Non-league opponents by KenPom:
(Average of 156 counting FF/Rider games)
Kansas 5 St. Bonaventure 69 FGCU 85 UNC-Asheville 128 Geo. Wash 136 UAlbany 166 Cornell 251 Ark. Pine-Bluff 347
Upcoming games:
Bucknell 134 Hofstra 175 Vermont 112
While Siena hasn't lost to anyone horrible they haven't been anyone either. No one loss has been terrible (though UA and Rider were not good) but with the high expectations of a senior laden team sitting at 3-7 is ridiculous. 6-4 or even 5-5 and I think nobody is flipping out too much.
Can they turn it around? Well the numbers suggest it is possible. But eventually you have to beat some decent teams and win on the road. RPI Forecast has Siena at 16-15. This is not an awful team they just are playing poorly and not finishing.
Siena's overall point differential is -16 - Throw out Kansas Siena's other 6 losses are by a combined 36 points - 6 points a game.
I agree with Saintsfan the next three games before the New Year and MAAC play beginning in full force are huge. Siena needs to go at least 2-1.

We've won numerous first round games. I think the goal now should be getting to the sweet 16. I'd agree with you if this was just Jimmy's first year. It is his 4th with a senior stacked team of 1000 point scorers. This team should have been ready to rumble day 1. At this point, unless we go on a roll immediately we'll have squandered any chance to improve RPI and tourney seeding. Going in as a 14 or 15 usually doesn't equate to a W.

All the people you mentioned at Siena are well compensated to do their jobs. If they need us to tell them how to do their jobs then why do we need them?

He said that was a program goal. You can't stand relevant as a mid major if you only get to the dance once every dozen years. In a season where you have the luxury of a group of talented Senior players you should be all over winning EVERY game to make a relevant run at that program goal. If you miss the mark and end up in the NIT you need to belong there as a mid. Making all about four days the first week of March is too likely to get your ass blown out of the building in the first round of any tournament.

I don't disagree with that, but you also have to be realistic and do the baby steps. We weren't even expected to win the conf this year. We were picked second in most places. I was never under any illusion we had much shot at a first round win (not that it would be impossible). I would be more than happy to make the NCAAs. Anything else is gravy. I would also have been pleased winning the conf and going to the NIT. Just like 4 days in March is important and always a shot for us - it is the same for several other good teams in the MAAC. That's their goal as well.

By now with this team of three 4 and 1 5th year Sr, we should have made big leaps for Siena-kind.

That's their goal as well. This is year 4, multiple thousand pt scorers, 4 seniors, 1 highly touted sophomore. Baby steps take place from year 1 thru 4. If Patsos isn't getting it done with this group he isn't ever gonna get it done at Siena. Time to start thinking about cutting your loses and moving on.
