We are struggling shooting the ball. Teams are really “packing it. We are insisting trying to force it into JO or Brett and they are swarmed by 2 sometimes 3 players. We don’t have a “zone buster” on roster ( he was run off last season) we are a fatally flawed offensive team. O sure we will have a few good games when we are shooting ball well, But since we really don’t have consistently good shooters- this team has making of a . 500 or so squad- some might say a so-so team..LOL

This isn't an excuse thread (because for gods sakes there's been enough) but just understand for a moment that thus far this year, Siena has lost exactly one game (Rider) that they were projected to win by Vegas or other hoops metrics. I'm not saying I'm HAPPY about dropping these games (especially by such close margins) but this is still far from an unexpected outcome. Hopefully they can turn these close losses into close wins soon enough. All I needed to see was how piss poor our game plan was for Albany. We were out coached, game plan was dog shit and some of the players didn't seem into it. This all rests on one person. Sorry I know you are a jimmy supporter but I think he has too many outside interests to be successful year in and year out. If you are looking for a 500 coach who may win the conference every 5 years or so he's a perfect fit. If you want to win consistently I don't see it.

To be clear, I'm not a Patsos supporter, I'm a Siena supporter. JP's style, game plans, and team execution have all been shoddy. I'd give him a D+ at best this year. But I still have faith in these players.

This team has plenty of decent 3 point shooters. The shots will fall eventually. They just lost two games making only one 3 in both of those games. One game a two point loss and last night a four point loss. Winning on the road is tough, but I guess Siena should win all road games or the coach and AD aren't doing their jobs and must be let go. Only on this board. What a joke.
It's all about the maac, Siena has a huge advantage playing at the TUC, just hang in there. Pretty sad when MTS bails after 10 games. 3-0 at home. Where has the #1 fan indiansant been? Is he ok? Or is he sick of seeing all the childish behavior out here.

Yes shots will fall eventually but you are conveniently ignoring all the other intangibles of dysfunction that have been a staple every season under this ever changing supervising cast and players. No successful program enters the arena with an OK to lose this one mentality. That isn't the way valuable coaches operate and it certainly isn't the way to build a sustainable competitive mid major program. If that isn't the goal then man up and move it all back to campus, drop a level or two and expand the academic profile of the COLLEGE. Oh wait...we've already made the decision to be in the business of basketball over education.

I did not see the kids acting like it was ok to lose as they clawed back last night.
What I did see was a team starting to find some identity from its bench players. This is what November and December are about. You see what and who work together and what doesn't. Then in January and beyond you apply what you learned.
Life is better when you win games while learning and developing. But the learning and developing is what must go on.

He might be playing at Shen right now.... Hicks? Know any other 6'4" guards with multiple D-1 offers up there?? lol I'm wiling to sacrifice some athleticism for smarts, and pure shooting ability for this team. A kid like Hicks would be a good addition.

I really don't follow HS hoop too closely other than my kids school which has the best player in the area

Especially with a Sr. Laden team of four 1K career players. There are no moral victories. You are what your record says you are.
