Now IF Wrights injured hand has hampered his shot and his playing ability! Maybe he should have limited minutes. Especially if it effects how the game is being played!

I do agree with th24 on this one. Don't fault quis for trying but if there is any chance the hand is impacting his performance he should sit until fully healed. Hopefully soon.

His hand had nothing to do with his horrible defense. I thought Segura was Justin Robinson the first few minutes of the game.

Disclaimer: THIS IS NOT A RANT. That being set aside here are a few observations from behind the bench last evening: Brett - Appeared ill early - pale, no hop, weak shots and a general lack of energy. Coach not happy with his play/effort or whatever - couple of heated back and forths. Can JP be blind? Seemed to revive second half - Hammer half-time magic - who knows but he played better second half Long - Just didn't bring it to any consistent degree - body language on bench certainly gave all the impression he didn't give a s$%t about what was going on. In one offensive set (?) in the first half he was just standing still near the baseline and made absolutely no move whatsoever when our shot went up. Nico - Many times appeared to be the only player with any energy trying to make plays Kinnon - Obvious problem overcoming the early season shoot/miss/hook coaching philosophy - passed up some shots where he was open for short times - we can't play with 5 guys so we got no shot with only 4 being allowed to score Kenny - Has to be given green light from the getgo and take open shots - Stags were giving him open looks that he passed away from - allows 5 on 4 defense and the Stags were prepared for that Marquis - should be coming off bench - first bucket the Stags got was a simple case of him not able to stay with his man - early foul trouble didn't glue him to the first half bench as they should have - mixed messages being sent by staff to others JO - Stags just played great D preventing him from operating in his comfort zone/area - passing lanes were quickly cut off - we can thank MB for that I'm sure Ryan - first half foil for JP's ire - pass up a shot - yanked - miss a shot - yanked - yadda yadda yadda Imoh - No question he should have been in especially when it was apparent to all, except our HC, that Brett was not himself and needed a blow JP - 2.0 and even a little 1.0 came through - long stretch in second half where he remained seated. Several RANTS at the scorer's table for no apparent or even possible reason - seems to have the view that the team only understands the F bomb while not grasping that it has no lasting influence Team chemistry not evident to any degree - just going through the motions - no confidence or evidence that Sunday's game will have a different outcome Getting tired of the pre and post game JP rant about time between games - if we can't play with one day's rest then we are toast in the tournament, even the 2 seed extra bye would have doomed us - a seed the coach plants at each and every opportunity in each player's mind Great observations. LL is a real concern, I wonder what's going on there, maybe he got a new video game and was up all night playing it. Maybe Brett, was playing with him. Brett looked horrible so maybe he was sick. JO played solid. I see less leadership from Brett when Quis is playing. I hope we're not experiencing another, I forgot his name, maybe Cole, situation.

I thought lavon played with heart in the second half of the Iona game. If wright wasn't playing well on d that is prob conditioning and he should not be playing. That's on coach.

Some here just don't get it re: Wright. Offensively Defensively Ball Handling Explosiveness his entire game has been impacted by: 1. Stress fracture 2. Stitches in his off hand 3. Absence from 15 games
To expect the same player that we had before is an absurd expectation. The only people I fault are the staff for putting him in a position to fail. He's been put out on the floor for far too many minutes at a clip. He's not the same player, that will come with time. Give the kid a break!!!!!!! Just because he was cleared to play doesn't make him 100%. He has speed issues, stamina issues timing issues strength issues etc.....
I remember playing high school basketball and football and dealing with similar (not same exact issues) circumstances it's not easy coming back when you've been out for half the season.

Everybody calm down. We weren't expecting Marquis back until the Quinny game at one point and were just hoping he'd be fit enough to help for the MAAC Tourney. Now he's got 3 games under his belt with the chance at one more to get everyone on the same page for the MAAC Tourney. Don't underestimate what a difference another week of practice and some healing in his hand can make. As for Nico, he's a streaky shooter. There will be some adjustment to Wright being back but you can't pin his 0 for 12 from 3 point on Marquis. That's just a bad stretch, normal for a streaky freshman. Add in Brett going 2 for 11 from 3 and you've got a recipe for disaster. Was actually impressed that they fought back and made a run in both games when they should have been blown out of the building in both games the way they shot. Right now Lavon is the one that needs a fire lit under him. I'd much rather see him playing too intense and fouling out than the disengaged Lavon we saw last night. When the big 5 have it going Siena can't lose to anyone in the MAAC. When 4 of them put up a stinker Siena isn't going to beat anybody. Not too long ago, most here couldn't wait for Marquis to come back, even though, realistically there had to be concerns about regaining shooting touch, stamina and foot speed. Now, many seem to be questioning why he is playing as much as he is,, even though we had to believe that his return would not be seamless. The team was playing well with Marquis before the injury (he was our best player); have to believe they will again, once everyone is used to having him back on the floor. What happened in his absence is that the team dynamic changed. Our front court became dominant, and Nico emerged as a game changer. Nico is drawing a lot more attention from other teams now than he was before, and teams have learned to pack the middle more against Brett and JO without the outside threat Marquis provided, and without having to be concerned about him penetrating to the basket as he was able to do so well. From where I was sitting at the game last night, I saw everyone playing hard. We outrebounded the Stags by a fair margin, and we all say that's a hustle/want to stat, right? Guys were hitting the floor going after loose balls. Shooting was off. Okay, it happens. Marquis took a lot shots, many of which because he was open. If a couple of the misses go in instead, it's a whole different ballgame. I also saw Marquis come to the bench twice to throw away a bandage and a piece of tape from his cut hand, so you have to believe that's still an issue. Despite all the problems the team had last night, they were still right there with two minutes left and s chance to win. Not saying there aren't issues, but this team isn't that far removed from runaway wins over Canisius and Rider, a significant road win at Iona (some on here have called it the best win in the Patsos era), and an almost epic comeback win at home against Iona (which to me had to take a lot out the players emotionally). I hope I'm not wrong, but I don't think things are nearly as dire as some here seem to think. Players and staff will figure this out and be ready for the MAAC Tournament. Well said 22. As a fan, I can see how people get frustrated and expect more out of the team. I though we could have won this game, before it started, and was a little frustrated that we let this one slip away. We crushed FF at home, but again if I remember that game FF couldn't hit a shot and we couldn't miss. The opposit happened last night. Does everyone ne remember that before they comment on last night's game? I have issues with what I perceive as some fans maybe wanting to find fault and then maybe placing it where it may not belong (coach, certain players, chemistry, enter reason here ... but I blame that on fans being frustrated over the past 5 years). I know w I've been stacking fans' opinions/comments but that's only because those opinions/comments bother me more than happy w Siena is playing, how the coaches coach ache or any player plays. I get defensive and fall back into protect my family (favorite team) mode.

I agree but go even further, not only give him a break, but also his teammates & coaches. I, for one, am very surprised he made it back, at all, this season. Thought he might possibly be back by Quinny or MAAC tourney if at all. Again, I, for one, would take him back at 70% if he could play. Quits at 70%, I believe still gives us a chance to win three games -in three days. Yes, the team won some games w/o him and played Monmouth close at home. But, I have to believe we're a better Team with him (even at 70%).

The team might have to talk to Wright eventually about having limited minutes! #TeamFirst I understand, but I doubt it'll work. Quis is a competitor (a warrior) he'll want to play even if they had to cut off his left hand and his repaired foot. He simply would get prosthetics and always drive Wright, I mean right.

A few games ago, people considered Wright our best player. We're not going to just give up on him after a bad game just a week into his comeback. Let's be real here.
The kid just needs practice time. He had one practice..then game. Another practice ...then game. Another practice....maybe? Then game.
So the kid has been back for a grand total of 6 days and had to play 3 games on limited practice time.... and people are Wrighting him off. Come on.

This place has wild emotions on wins and losses. When the team wins a few in a row its "we're back to the Fran days" and after a couple of losses its doom and gloom and the coach is doing something wrong. Let the season play out and enjoy the team win or lose. That's what fans do.
