Impressive win for the Gaels as AJ English went off in a big win at Monmouth. Gaels are still alive for the regular season title (for that matter so is Siena). Siena has to beat Iona to have ANY chance at the #2 seed. If Iona wins they can finish no worse than second (two game lead with two games left and would hold tiebreaker because of win over Monmouth). Yes that Marist game still stings!
Siena has a two game lead on St. Peter's and Fairfield for the #3 seed.
Updated standings
Monmouth 14-3 Iona 13-4 Siena 12-5 St. Peter's 10-7 Fairfield 10-7 Manhattan 8-8 Rider 7-10 Canisius 6-11 Quinnipiac 6-11 Niagara 5-12 Marist 2-15

Locked up the 6 seed with Manhattan and the bye next. They play Quinny on Sunday.

Bisping. JO. Long. Should cause problems for their bigs. Muhammad went off last time- gotta watch him.
I'm still worried that AJ English will go off for +40 points.

This is a must win.
If Siena loses, they lose 2nd place and they lose the day off in the tourney.
And should they find themselves in a 3rd game with Iona, they'd be at an energy/rest disadvantage vs. an overall more athletic team...with the confidence that they can beat us at the TUC.
Siena could lose at FF and still get 2nd if Iona lost at Manhattan...but Siena would have to hold the sweep over Iona to get the tie breaker. There's no way around it.
They can't lose this game and still get 2nd.

If we can keep English contained and under 30, I like our chances. Give Quis some playing time, and hopefully Nico shows up again and hits those 3s with English in his face.

Mostly with you but not completely. Make English work for his points like last time and prevent anybody else from having a career night and I like our team's chances.

Big easy win by Iona may be a blessing in disguise. Hopefully they come in with a swagger believing they are unbeatable. Siena big better than Monmouth, defense better and we can run. Interesting containing Robinson the way they did, perhaps other teams will do the same.

we win out...take the tourney and get on the NCAA bus!! How's that IS for pos thinking. This team looks that good right now. The way they moved the ball with Quis back looked awesome.

Here's my concern with the Iona game. "Jimmy figuring out the rotation particularly where Nico is concerned". In the 15 games Wright was out Nico averaged over 31 minutes/game. In Quis first game back his playing time gets cut to 20 minutes and he has one of his least productive outings in recent memory. To beat Iona we need to have Nico's energy on the court, not on the bench. To do this Jimmy has to find a way to steal some more minutes for Nico. Possibly from Oliver and or Long?

Tony thanks for the wink. Observation of TU blog, last year blog was loaded with replies etch., this year just from looking at the replies from various games seems like no one is stating an opinion, has the tu blog diminished that much.
