Also...having watched the clip ...easily one of the most ignorant misleading clips I've ever seen. No surprise at the source

It's funny how "far" we have come as a country. When I was in school we had maps showing the socialist and communist countries in red. The idea was that we were different and frankly better.
The clip is accurate demonstrating typical Americans' understanding of socialism. The question was what socialism is, not a hybrid European socialism. Which frankly isn't much better.
Marx would tell you it's the state that exists before communism.
Socialism is when the "people", the government to be more accurate, control the means of production. Private Capitalism, doesn't exist. It also means that to be successful you better be involved in government because that's where the money is. It also means less, much less, social upward mobility. Look across the pond.
I can't believe people in this country would advocate this form of government. Understanding that most don't know what it really is, is some solace, but it's still scary.

I'm sure you think that the recently deceased justice Scalia was a retard as well.

Strong tea party presence in the board. Luckily it's a minority in the voting booth

As much as you people bitch about how free loaders will abuse the system given social welfare... The greedy corporate world will take whatever they can in "capitalistic free market". It fits both ways which is why a balance is necessary. The problem is that economically the pendulum has shifted so far in favor of the corporate world and very much against the average citizen/workers. Failure to admit that and address it is EXACTLY the problem today...AND why you see Washington outsiders with such support

You're statements sound like you should belong to the tea party. You're finally starting to make sense.

You're statements sound like you should belong to the tea party. You're finally starting to make sense. Just clarifying... you agree that what we have is crony capitalism. If so, that much we agree on. Electing any of the republican slate or Hillary merely continues American politics as business as usual. Probably the single biggest complaint I have right now regarding the election campaign is the argument coming from many of the candidates and the same spew that comes from ignorant voters... The idea that our system is the best of what is available so therefore we should just elect those that support it. American exceptionalism is such a poison that pervades all aspects of our lives. We couldn't possibly improve things especially with the grid lock so therefore elect an establishment politician. Americans think their proverbial shit doesn't stink and that we are so much better than everyone else. The reality is that our politicians are simply more polished at thievery than most other countries and there is a built in system to distribute/disseminate lies and half truths to sway public opinion that is our special interest owned press

A good example would be Obamacare. Which you support. And I thought you were finally getting it.

Allowing corporations to do as they've done and to do so by buying government officials is what I'm against. You support that.

If you honestly believe that socialism is the answer for this country .. I think you should have your head examined! Better yet, move to Greese!
