For this team since there is nothing really at stake besides position for the tourney, perhaps games like this ( hopefully last one)! Provides a teaching moment. As patsos said before the game any given Sunday a team can beat you. Siena should know they have to bring it for the quarters or it will be a short Maac, tuc or not. Agree. Losses that light a fire under the teams ass can be beneficial.

At this point you bench Long start Nico and sit Lavon until his ass gets sore. Nico has earned every minute. Lavon needs to get his act together and bring it every second he's on the floor. No excuses he has too much ability ... It looks to me like the kid burns out on hoop and it shows. Nico has talent and he loves the game, every game, all the time. Lavon is a junior, at this point even if he doesn't like the game he should bring his lunch pail and do his job. Could he have been sick? There is a big time stomach bug going around. If he looked out of it, maybe there was a reason. Putting this loss to Marist so much on him, I don't agree with. And while marist is having a bad season, it was a conference loss on the road. As everyone knows, this is not that uncommon. Marist won the game, was the better team today. That's all.

Can't argue that Marist was the better team today. The scoreboard holds the proof. With all due respect, Yankee, I don't think you've seen as much of Lavon as the rest of us here. We've seen this up and down enough times to be baffled by it. Until someone says he's sick, I would never think he was sick.

Just back from game- team had no energy – Marist came out in a packed in zone, and we acted surprised. Not really getting much out of back court other than Nico today. Reason why Lavon struggled is Marist packed it in, no room for Lavon to operate. Bad match up for Oliver, he is rather slow east to west. And while I’m in no way, shape or form blaming loss on Gottfried – those two turnovers were absolutely horrible – and to the person that said what harm can 2 or 3 min do- hope they were watching today’s game. Things will get better with Return of Wright and adding Smithin and Richards next year- but at the least we need a wing that can shoot and Defend, and ideally like to get an athletic 4 also

Have to say this is a bad loss, but it is not like we haven't seen this scenario before over the years. Marist seems to come up bigger at home against Siena when on paper Siena has more talent. Credit Marist they hit their big shots down the stretch. Bad day for Gottfried, certainly bad TOs but how many unforced TOs have we seen the whole team make. You are right, Gottfried didn't lose the game, but he didn't "hold serve" today, he was a negative. This was a team loss. My keys to the game were focus, focus and focus. Siena missed on all three. Move on to cc on Thursday.

So they played a packed in zone for 40 minutes, and Kinnon played :45??
THAT, I can blame on the head coach.
Makes no sense.....

There are many reasons for today's loss. The 3 biggest: #1 reason, they do not know how to play a zone. Their 3's were wide open. Nico's 3's with a man in his face. Many of their points came from drives against our zone #2 TO Sinea 15.....Marist 7 against a last place team #3 Not playing Imoh

This team was due for a bad loss. And it's a wake up call for some players! I fully expect this team rebound from this game. Let's go saints! There is a lot at stake with every game. As much as we all want to go dancing the season may not end with a MAAC tounament loss. After where we have been for the past 5 years an NIT appearance would be nice. Any post season would be better than nothing. We want a quality post season position so yes...every game is important.

Kinnon gave up the baseline in the first half and that got him a seat on the bench for the duration of the game. I am sure his parents, who were in attendance, were pleased.
One comment about JO: for all the good things he does, I have rarely seen a 6'8 kid go up so weakly. He seems to make himself smaller, more like 6'5. His back may have been bothering him. I saw Hammer rubbing something on his back just before the second half tip.

Difference between Kinnon and Nick Cunningham is their dads don't coach in the ACC (to my knowledge)
Look it was a HORRIBLE loss but we're still in good shape for a top 3 finish.
3-6 right now:
Siena 9-5 Manhattan 6-6 St. Peter's 6-6 Fairfield 7-7
We need to go at least 3-3 in our final six games and I like our chances.
Big game vs the Griffs Thursday (who beat Rider at home today)
Stinkers happen on the road we haven't had one for over a month. Learn and move on.
