See, I don't think he did. He left two great big men (Rossiter and OD), and a few decent wings (CJ, Wignot, Downey and Poole). The problem was the next coach/recruiting class. Imagine a coach like Jimmy bringing in players like Wright, Long, White and Wolfe with those those leftovers? I think we'd be chugging along at 20+ wins a year still. That's a definite maybe. Jury is still out on those guys.

I know we were already scolded and all but what was Jimmy's deal? i know he got a four year deal but was it all guaranteed? I would imagine it is a guarantee contract and Siena had to do it to acquire him. Jimmy was a pretty successful coach at Loyola. He had a stable job there. With Mitch Siena was dealing with a coach who had no other head coaching options thus any guarantee beyond two season was a terrible miscalculation. The contract Jimmy signed was for 5 years but a year was added after the season so it is back to 5 years with this season (but according to the press release the financials stayed the same). If Jimmy wants to get the money Fran was getting when he left Siena he will obviously have to produce big results. collegebasketballtalk.nbcsports.com/2014/06/18/siena-extends-head-coach-jimmy-patsos-contract-through-2019/

Mts. Can you go a post without mentioning Fran or Mitch? Let this guy coach and stop comparing him to either guy. Its history move on. Thank you.
