The best Siena player scores about 1.3 points per shot taken. If he is averaging 20 shots and scoring 30, that's 1.5 points per shot taken, pretty solid.
I haven't seen him other than videos, so I'll defer to those that have. I do think there is something about a kid who dominates his level as a high school sophomore that is worth looking at.

I haven't seen him yet either. Just a red flag when the first "bigger" school he plays against handles him. And you can't compare shots/points from a HS kid to a college kid. I'm guessing that a majority of the kids on Sienas team had a much higher ppst in HS then they do in college.

Have there been any Class D players from NYS that went on to play Division 1 at a level as high as Siena? The only one I can recall is Adonal Foyle, who went to Hamilton HS and then played at Colgate before playing in the NBA. But he was a center -- I would think it would be tougher to project the skills transfer of a guard.
EDIT-- Nevermind, I thought we were talking about a class D player -- Joel plays in Class C obviously.

But Evan gets 19 and he's a bum? lol Can't have it both ways. His " team got "top 5 team in the state" got blown out of the water by HF, and I'll guess he took 20 shots to get that 19. That's all I can say since I haven't seen him. He must be decent if both JP and WB offered him. BU also offered, so I'm sure he can shoot it. I wanna see if he can do more than that....

Joel up to this point has very modest national rankings- and he has been seen in several tournaments= kid should be watched to see how he develops- but he is far from a "sure" thing

great story on Wincowski Wincowski still climbingJesus those are some BEAST numbers and yes i understand the level of competition... as State Class C Player of the Year last year in his Sophomore season... 27.3 ppg 5.8 rbs 5.1 steals 3.9 assists and now this... his Junior year 30.5 ppg 9.3 rbs 5.6 steals 3.9 assists Quote from his coach "Just an aura he has about him and the way he carries himself, he definitely makes everyone better." "He's driven. He's a hard worker" the more i see and hear about this kid the more I want him at Siena. He will absolutely be "one that got away" if he ends up elsewhere. I remember a young man from a "C" school from the western part of New York area that became a Great Player for Duke.

His team wins. All comments by coaches that evaluate him is that he is a really intelligent player and that he makes everyone around him better. He is a leader. You don't hear ANY of that about hymes. Try watching both sides of the ball once in a while. I get it.. He can score... but every other aspect of his game is not D1

BUT the kid brings a dimnesion to our team we don't have, and need. His defense, mainly because Mitch let him skate, was horrible, but has improved 100%. JP got thru to him he needed to play harder and tougher. His rebounding avg went up, in less minutes this year. Can he stop most 6'3" guys from causing problems for us? Nope, but again, he's got warts like every other kid. Your basic hatred for this kid is too much though, and if he does sneak into the all-time top ten scoring list, it'll be a tough pill to swallow for you, I get it. You can play the "yeah but the team sucks" card all you want, but any kid that scores 1500 pts on the D-1 level belongs there. Just keep him off the point

This is nonsense. There are 2 Kids dominating class AA right now .. Dyaire Holt , Jahlil Nails. How about we try to get them instead of this kid. Even Cerutti from G-Land would be a nice fit for us. Sorry when you play class D and your decent your stats should be what his stats are. Put him against Cremo in class A.. In AAu his father is the coach so ofcourse he's going to get the majority of the shots. Id much rather try to get Zach Radz, Jahlil Nails, Dyaire Holt and Matt Cerruti one of them. IMP

Nails is D2 at best according to everyone I trust who sees him. Also a head case to a degree. We are trying for Holt

And 1) he can thank Mitch for being a 1500 pt scorer as no other school would've handed him the ball as a primary player at this level. Kids with his warts as you put it don't make it to this level. 2) he never wouldve been a starter anywhere else the last two years 4 or 5 scholarships that need yet to be cleaned up. A ton of up side as it happens
