Nice win Niagara played hard and did a great job of taking Poole away.. Evan takes a lot of crap on this board but he came up big in second half and scored some points when we desperately needed them. wasn't a thing of beauty but I'll take the win I agree but if he misses one of those threes we're talking about his game completely differently. He was completely ineffective until patsos was running offense/defense substitutions coupled with some bad turnovers. I believe the game was tied when hymes came in and quickly Niagara had 4 or 6 pt lead. Hymes on Mason was not going sienas way. After a number of possessions of people going by hymes Patsos finally started putting white in for defense for hymes and they finally started getting some stops. Credit coaching. Credit to hymes for nailing those shots. They talked on the call in show about hymes steal. It was actually wright who tipped the ball right to hymes. Wright was great again tonight and only got credit for two steals despite being involved in like 5. Offense hymes defense white really played out well at the end What a pass by lavon. I'm pretty sure that was talked about in the timeout. Poole and wright ran out on that over-play by niagara. This game was not a good matchup for siena up and down the roster and they pulled it out. Silas being ineffective really allowed niagara to stay in the game. First game niagara went 0-13 from 3 while siena went 5-10. Teams are much closer than that first game would indicate

Audu gave us some solid minutes ... Hit a 3 and was active on some loose balls ... 4th place is for the taking Saturday.

I know it pisses you off he made them. I feel like you would rather him miss and Siena loss so you can come out and say see I told ya. I'm not a huge hymes fan but he came up huge late hitting threes and making clutch free throws. Your agenda is getting old.

Your agenda is getting old. first you obviously werent speechless. thus your rant after that statement. second... "Credit to hymes for nailing those shots" and "Offense hymes defense white really played out well at the end" third... that hole that required those threes may not have existed at that time had Hymes not been getting ripped on defense. Some of you see one friggin side of the ball. A guy creates a hole then digs himself out of it and you want to hail him as a hero. Hymes NEARLY cost them the game last night down the stretch and then he manned up and dug them out of the L. You want him to be hailed as a hero today. Quite frankly, I was pissed that Poole passed that out. Poole was 5 feet from the rim and had an easy shot but passed it out. Lucky that Hymes hit that. Props to Hymes for hitting that shot as it was actually a bad decision by Poole to pass up an easy shot for that option. it worked out though. If you get a chance... go check out Patsos reaction to that play. He was pissed at Poole EVEN THOUGH Hymes hit the shot... and he let Poole know it.

Buf Butt. You got the point.......there is a small group on this board who long for the past (recent). They love to be negative, critical of every thing. Next year they will need Mental Health referrals

To be honest, even Fran's championship teams would frequently play flat against supposedly inferior teams. I think it's tough to get energized to play at home against a team that you throttled on their court. Glad they were able to summon just enough sack to get this win. Gotta disagree on the fact Siena couldn't get energized for this game. Siena Siena isn't 17-5 and rolling the MAAC. Every game is and will be a struggle, if the kids don't know that, or Jimmy hasn't beaten that into them, well will be a quick exit come tourney..... Not very good match-ups last night. Hymes, did Hymes things.... i don't think it is his fault he was on Mason. that should never happen. And if we have to do offense for defense for him, so what?? no one else has shown they can score consistently like him (outside of poole), so especially in games like last night, he needs to be out there. same for Brett.... this roster is flawed, but just need to have the guys in there most comfortable spots. Brett has no chance of guarding 21, yet he was on him quite a bit and fouled out guarding him.

Hymes is a good offensive player most of the time. White is a good defender with size and length ... really disruptive and a very good rebounder as a guard. As you stated... hymes did what hymes does. He gives you some bone headed plays and some good offensive plays. When a game is over you just hope you come out a net positive. They did last night. Patsos experimented a number of times with defense on Mason. Hymes was purposely on him to get a different look... smaller fast player in Hymes. They were playing man and Hymes specifically matched up on him. At times when they were in the zone Niagara, like other teams really like to attack Hymes side

He do not use white enough in hymes defense... if they were getting some offense by other than Poole last night you wouldve seen White out there more to defend Mason. The bigs really didnt have a great game. The starting bigs (Silas, Bisping, Long) went 7 of 19 (.368) and that isnt good when those shots come mostly from within a few feet of the basket. Only 16 points between the three of them. Thus why having Hymes out there becomes a necessity. Give up defense for some offense. again..if they were getting more offense elsewhere or White was a little more polished offensively at this point... you would see less Hymes. White is playing noticeably better lately and his offensive game is still coming around.

can the science department combine the DNA of Hymes and White? you'd have a hell of a ball player there.
