Seems the majority of people that think closing off the upper level seating are people who aren't sitting up there and already have good seats down there. To you it may sound great. To those of us without good seats downstairs we would much prefer being able to sit at midcourt upstairs to being stuck behind the hoop downstairs. I agree Scott. For the ones that think center court upstairs seats are bad, next game take a walk upstairs. They are great seats, no question about it. Let’s just win and the atmosphere will grow. In fact it’s not the location of the fans, it’s the fans…….many in section 121 where I sit don’t even clap after a made basket.

If student action is at the forefront of creating a great atmosphere, then the least you could do is encourage the heads of the Dog Pound to regroup after winter break and do their best to organize the and unify the students that do attend games. Perhaps pointing them to ideas discussed on the board would be a start. www.sienasaints.com/school-bio/saints-dog-pound.htmldogpound@siena.edu

They need to get rid of the tables behind the one hoop... set up a slightly higher tiered stands behind each hoop and just off behind the basket... it pulls the students and band closer to the action... and eliminates the bistro atmosphere on the one end.... students should have access to free tickets during the break.... obviously not a ton will be there, so use the endzone seating for student groups(biddy teams, etc) who will be loud for more then just a freakin' t-shirt. Get rid of some of these promos... every TO and break in action we get the "Lia find the keys in my pants promotion"......granted i have been to some college football stadiums and they too have a lot of "filler" mostly because of the lengthy TV breaks, but it isn't the minor league version we get.... yes, maybe we are minor league on some levels, but do we need to milk every dime out of the gameday setup? students will only help the atmosphere so much though... clearly not many care, so will take a while for them to become the vocal lead our more aged and less excitable fanbase needs...

Perhaps pointing them to ideas discussed on the board would be a start. www.sienasaints.com/school-bio/saints-dog-pound.htmldogpound@siena.edu 100% it is the students. Watch basketball on TV. There was no excitement about Siena basketball for the past 3 seasons on campus minus the students who really love sports. The students will turn out. But, there needs to be students who take the initiative to chant like a maniac and start chants. I can say for the 2011 and 2012 Maac tournaments I led the student section in cheers and when I tried to add creative chants people would not go along with them. The Dog Pound is now run by the athletic department, it used to be run by students. But, Siena basketball has to become an experience for students to go to and be a reason for them to go to games. Also it needs to be a priority to get students to go to games over break included in their season ticket package. Finally stop being concerned with making money and let students get on both floors sections. But, the dog pound has no authority to do anything, they need to have creative meetings to create cheers, make signs etc.

Good try with the motivation last night. I heard some defense from the crowd. Section 120 trying to get it going.

I heard it too! Joined in when I could from 106. Keep it going, I think it can get steam when the students are back.

It's amazing--- I have a cold but I did some light "defense" and "let's go saits" and some of the crowd picked it up in 105. I think people are eager to cheer and the 5 game home streak is helping.

I think the most frustrating thing is all the overhead DJ music. There is a pep band for a reason, let us play! We have a huge amount of newer songs, plus all of the classics, but we rarely get a full timeout to play. It sucks to start practicing in September and then never get the chance to play in the TUC

The overhead speakers should be used for sponsors, team intro, and the cheer/dance songs only. All other music should be the pep band.

What the hell happened to the spotlight during intros? Turning the lights out looks really stupid without the spotlight.

Smart programs put the student section right behind the opposing teams bench. Makes the game not so fun for them

You think with a $ attached to everything that happens with Siena Coach K would be here. That TUC must be one expensive rest home.
