How about the crowd tonight. Pathetic. I know there is what came first the chicken or the egg argument to be made, be it was pathetic. Far from a home court advantage. Only during the 22-0 run did they get into and that was weak. It doesn't help that at every intermission there is a stupid contest...but free T-shirts is the only thing that seems to get people to make some noise. And don't give me the students are away bit...our student section is an embarrassment. Not trying to defend the crowd but it seemed as though the team wasn't into the game for the first 25 minutes. The crowd feeds off the players energy- kinda has always been that way at Siena. In any event, that second half run brought back some great memories of the glory years. Wright very rarely gets rattled and takes great care of the ball- he will be a pleasure to watch over the next 4 years. His offense (particularly outside shot) will come, just like Ronald's did each year. Hymes brought a lot of energy during the run. When he tries not to do too much, he can be a real asset. Emo owned the paint on the defensive end of the floor during our run and if he can stay out of foul trouble by playing smarter, he will be a valuable part of our success. He is our inside presence at this point. Lane played solid on both ends of the floor tonight and will be a beast in the MAAC by his senior season. I see a lot of Alex Franklin in him. Robbie carried us offensively tonight and did a great job on the boards. There's no quit in this team and that is a tribute to the coaches and the kids resiliency. Jimmy gets in their grill during the game and somehow it seems to work with these kids. My guess is that he gives them a lot of love in addition to the tough love that we see. Jimmy make some great adjustments during the game including going to the zone. I haven't been impressed with our press this year but it was the difference during our run. A real good win going into conference play- onto Monmouth for Thursdays game , weather permitting.

Wow- great game to watch-- have to admit I was a little worried in 1st half. Fordham wasn't guarding Wright and was overplaying ball on perimeter- only thing keeping us in was defense. Jimmy made some adjustments-- halfway thru 2nd half went zone and completely threw a curve ball to Rams-- pressed and put them off their game-- and wow I said before game Rams had two best players on floor -- well tonight Siena had best player in Poole-- Not only did he score- he played terrific defense on Severe..who is a great player but is 6'1" tops..he struggled shooting over 6'5" Poole. Hymes played well... and Wright is so damn cool calm and composed-- he just oozes confidence. Rams have some talent-- but Siena pretty much wore them down and Patsos made some very good in game adjustments-- really nice win tonight Fordham guards were pathetic in attempts to throw themselves into defenders most of the night. First half they got bailed out a number of times

Hate to say it but a college basketball atmosphere is all about the students creating the environment and the regular fans reacting to big key moments in the game. In terms of students, why they don't allow students to go to games for free over the break is mind boggling. But in order to get the crowd behind the team IMO the student section needs to get more involved and not sit around during games as well. Look at a Syracuse game or heck even some mid major schools. Their student sections create the atmosphere.

Part of the problem is they sit so far back and in the corner.

Great night at the line for Siena. 27-34 for 79% Poole is too good a shooter to struggle at the line like he did earlier in the year. Wright hitting 4 of 6 including a couple late is a good sign as well since he is struggled at the line. Always want your PG to be a reliable FT shooter. And lastly Lavon who was 5 of 6 and now at 67%. With his size and skill he should be able to draw a lot of fouls in MAAC play and will be good to capitalize at the line like he has been lately after the slow start. 70% is right around the corner. .thats where he needs to be this year...I expect 80% next season..finished with 3 fouls after getting 2 early showing growth there... and not getting the offensive fouls left him with 0 turnovers with 3 assist. A team win with many contributions. .Poole is the offense and Hymes is the spark plug...I enjoyed watching the team share the ball and score from the offensive sets.. Good win

I loved the ball movement in second half. This team looks like it is coming together and that they genuinely enjoy playing and playing with each other. Good stuff!

Yes the guys are becoming a well oiled machine. I waited till after the game to bring this up so not to ruin it...I predicted 4 OOC wins as a worst case scenario..and the guys got in done...now if my minimum of 12 MAAC wins come true we are looking at a winning record

Jimmy's thoughts on the crowd-- Not sure what people are talking about I sit close to floor and place was electric during 22-0 run "The building started getting electric. Then we made a few plays. It started getting noisy. Believe me I know. For 9 years I was on the other end. It starts getting loud when the crowd gets into it and you start pressing. The sidelines seem to get tight. We’ve got fans all over the place, on the sidelines and the base line and it closes in on you quick. I thought the fans did a great job of helping our energy.”

I understand that the first half was very difficult to watch, but at times, the crowd was comatose.

No students and pretty ugly basketball for first half .. What do you expect? Seriously what do you expect? Siena made a run that the crowd without students played a huge role in and you people still aren't happy?

I'm happy! I just would like to see the crowd be more proactive and less reactive.

Last night, really good coaching came to forefront. The adjustments made both offensively and defensively were perfect. The only PW flashback came when Evan tried to go one-on-one with the shot clock running down. Ball movement and back cuts off the high post were beautiful. During the 22-0 stretch we did a great job of keeping them out of the paint and settling for deep "3"s.
Anyone still think JP isn't the guy for the job?

I hear you... but not sure how realistic it is, students on break, pro style arena , fans between 30 and 70..not a recipe for a "pit" I'm happy for what we have--crowd played a major part of the comeback and energy in building
