You forgot #4: Silas and Bisping aren't very good. Does saying that somehow make you feel good or important? Sorry I hurt your kids feelings (once again you're jaded with how personally close you get to these kids). They're both great and we should redshirt anyone behind them. But you're right, I'll take it down.

People have a short memory. Rossiter HAD to play as a Frosh. Yes, we had Josh Duell but he needed someone to spell him. He couldn't play the mins needed (knees). Without Rossiter we were left with: Cory Magee, Erik Harris (walk-on) & James Carr. Rossiter was basically our #2 center behind Duell. Yes, Cory played the same mins per game but Rossiter HAD to play. This year' team is a little deeper at center. Wolfe may not be needed if it's in his interest to sit out a year. We have Imoh, JO, & Bisping. We have the luxury of red shirting Wolf if needed. We didn't have the luxury of red shirting Rossiter . I don't view that team & Rossiter comparable to this team & Wolfe (big men wise). Who knows, Wolfe may not redshirt & we're debating this for nothing. Teams that go 8-24, and lose 3 of their top 5 players (the 2 back are guards--Poole & Hymes) don't have the "luxury of redshirting" anyone!! lol Again, why Silas and Bisping make all you people sleep so well at night, is a mystery. My point was I don't believe your Rossiter comparison fit this situation. Fran was heading into his 3rd year. & won more games his first two than people expected. He did not have the luxury of RS Rossiter (we only had Duell & Corey). He needed the 11 mins a game Rossiter could give. I'm not saying Imoh & Brett are great centers, but if Jimmy's even considering RS Wolf, then he must be happy enough with Imoh, JO & Brett. Jimmy does have the luxury of RS Wolfe with 3 able body centers & this is Jimmy's 1st yr (not his 3rd) = less pressure to win in first yr as opposed to 3rd yr.

That's it right there...Wolfe is my guy but Patsos does not think he will get minutes this year with what he has...I am glad fans like Wolfe but that one practice does not erase all the work the other 3 have put in to prove they are more ready at this point...

HJ, You don't need a slice of Humble Pie, you NEED THE WHOLE PIE! We all got served humble pie the last few years, the only problem is the same ole diehards refuse to eat it. Everything green and gold is great and all of our guys are the best. We just went 8-24, but that was all bad luck

Interesting thread ... turns out that White and Wolfe weren't quite ready for the prime time but Bisping has developed his game considerably. Goes to show you that you can not base your opinion on a player based on one game or practice.

White might have been the best player on the court that day. He made several 3 pt jumpers, and played great "D." Yes, he's been a big disappointment on the offensive end.
Wolfe just showed so much potential that day. Can't remember Siena ever having a kid this athletic. This long, show could jump out of the gym AND shoot the ball from the 3 pt arc.
I saw Bisping his whole freshman year, and when he played awful that day, it was a huge disappintment. Silas also played really bad that day. No improvement from either one of them.
So that day began the whole "should be redshirt Wolfe?" debate. With Silas and Bisping playing so poor that day, I was shocked there was any talk about redshirting ANY kid because we were coming off a 8-24 season, and needed all the help we could get to turn things around. Brett obviously improved under Jimmys coaching, and I'm glad he did. He works real had so I have alot of respect for him, and the strides he's made. Silas, not so much.
So as we look back 5 months ago, Bisping improved somewhat. Far from great, but he gets a solid "B" from me this year. Silas is still a "D" for me this year, and I'd like to give Wolfe more of his minutes. Even though JP obviously agreed with me, because he didn't redshirt Wolfe, he should have, since he never really gave the kid a chance. Wasted his freshman year. He obviously needs work, but I do wish he got more game experience this year.

So why not give White and Wolfe the experience? Given what has happened in can be argued the whole year was wasted.

And this is why I thought Wolfe would redshirt... yes he jumps the highest and dunks the most but I knew there were too many guys in front of him that were ready strength wise and could fill their roll on both ends of the floor... Wolfe will go as far as his work ethic allows him to go. Cant teach height.

The best players that were proven in practice should continue to play as we play to win. No need to throw in the towel... we need to finish strong with our best foot forward and compete.

Wolfe biggest issue is that he plays way too SOFT. Can or will that change I don't know I hope so!
He needs to put on weight and muscle and up the physical part of his game,
He's athletic, can jump, he shoots ok but he's not a lights out deep ball shooter like HJ touts. Right now He's kind of a player without a position too soft for the post and not a perimeter player.
There's a ton of potential but he really would have benefited from prep school play. If he were my son that's where he would have played this year. He needed the time to mature.

Yeah the season was definitely not wasted. We have our PG for the future in Marquis Wright. We have another very good versatile player in Lavon Long. White, Wolfe and JO all showed very good potential if they can work on their games in the offseason. Jimmy wasn't going to just play them a ton of minutes for the heck of it. He is trying to rebuild and win games at the same time and yes we would not have 11 wins and a chance to win a bunch more if he just played 5 frosh 30 minutes each. Should Wolfe redshirted well maybe but he has contributed to least one win scored 5 points against St. Bonaventure in a game we won by 2.
Bisping has proven to a very good role player ditto for Oliver. And Poole will be a first team all-MAAC player next season.
The team plays exciting uptempo basketball.. sure we have some things that have to improve on (foul situation being #1).
Hopefully we can finish the regular season strong and make some noise in Springfield.
