My thoughts:
--Anyone that wants to redshirt #25 Wolfe after seeing him today is CRAZY! He might be our best big. Silas and Bisping were very disappointing today.
--Cole is the real deal!! He needs to lose about 15 lbs, and when he does he'll be a real good player for us. Only guy we have that can really create his own shot. Looked like a 3-year starter out there and today, and if it was your first Siena experience, you'd have thought Cole was the preseason 3rd team All-MAAC, not Poole.
--#10 White is EXACTLY what we need at the 2G. He should start from day one. Much better than either Audu/Oliver. Plays hard, athletic and surprisingly can shoot the ball from deep.
--Wright is a good floor general, but not as quick as I thought. He can score too, but hopefully he keeps his shot total at around 10 per game. We need him to get his teammates easy looks.
--Cruz and Hopper seemed to catch most of JP's wrath! lol
My starting 5 tomorrow: Wright, White, Poole, Bisping and Wolfe/Silas (toss-up)........Long and Hymes first off the bench.....J.O. will get a few minutes too, but I think Wolfe can be special by Feb.
This team still needs two things next year. A combo guard that can create and score, and a legit back-to-the-basket scorer on the block. We have neither right now. Look for JP to "open up" two scholarships for this years recruiting class.

Agree. Wolfe is clearly the most talented player on the team although still needs to get stronger and a little more involved. If he does redshirt, he will be dynamite for the next four years. Don't agree on Cole. He is a slasher and gets to the basket but he's a gunner, plays out of control and takes too many wild shots. After practice probably needs to put his arm in ice. Like White, Audu and Oliver (when his shot is going down). Long is nice passer, good defender and rebound but has no shot. He will get points around the hoop, putbacks, some drives, etc but has limited range. Tough kid, tho.

Wolfe will be redshirting this season. ..he has players more ready in front of him right now. I am saying this based on more than today's practice. Wolfe is young and lacks the strength to earn enough minutes right now. I am glad we have him as his potential is off the charts...he was going to prep and I doubt he would have been within our reach next year....

The "Green" team won, or was right in every 5-on-5 that I saw! How I don't know, because basically it was 5 on 3!? He did shoot a lot, but either he or White had to! lol He gets to the basket better than anyone on the team, and thats with being out of shape. IF he's eligible, Oliver and Audu don't get a sniff this season.

The problem with Wolfe is once we get into real game situations his lack of size (is he even 200 lbs?) will cause some big time struggles for him. What you see is his potential and skills but the strength issue will hurt him. Jimmy has to decide if it's worth the production he'll get this season out of Wolfe vs. using the red-shirt and what we'll get out of Wolfe during his senior season. That is 4 years down the line but something that has to be considered. We knew Rossiter was going to be good seeing him as a freshmen but he got pushed around alot and Wolfe is even thinner.

Trust me when I tell you, he's the best big man on the roster right now. I don't care if he's 17 or 200lbs. It's not even close.....There's no RR or OD playing ahead of him. You guys are acting like Silas and Bisping are Parish and McHale!! lol

Wolfe has bigtime upside. ..the biggest question mark with the team is the 5 position JO is making big steps and Bisping has looked much better than he did today...its not about who jumps the highest or dunks the most...this was prob Wolf's best practice and Bisping and Silas' worse one...not fair to judge them on one practice...the guys on white are there because of what they have done since and during Montreal

So if it was Wolfes best practice and Bisping and Silas' worst, why would you have those two ahead of him in your "top 7 today?" I don't need alot of practices to determine who the better guys are.
The "White team--1st team" has Oliver, Audu on it because Cole is still ineligible and White was a late add and may have been behind at one point.
The "Green team--2nd team" BEAT the 1st team easily, and that was with Cruz and Hopper in their starting line-up!
JP has no pressure to win right away so maybe he will RS Wolfe, but anyone there today that knows basketball could clearly see how much better he is than any other big we have.

The top 7 I listed were in white...yesterday they won everything and that happens more times than not...White's shot was not as deadly and Wolfe did not dominate. Bisping was scoring and defending inside and Cole played the same way but shots did not go in along with more turnovers...if you know ball you should know developing players have ups and downs...the most consistent earn the time...right now the most consistent are the guys in white....I believe Maurice will work his way in to the playing group Oliver and Audu got an earlier start than he did...hitting those 3s today within the offense showed his potential. ..but right now Oliver and Audu are better shooters and have a better grasp of what has been taught so far

No pressure to win a MAAC championship this season yes but we need to get the foundation laid out. I expect a competitive team...of course we'd all love a winning season but we can't sit through another 8 win season - young team/tough schedule or not. I don't believe we will either...good coaches find a way to win their share in college basketball...and Jimmy has already got to bring in a bunch of his own guys (Fran only had Kenny but had more talent inherited)

I already wrote that this group has a lot of potential, but is missing two more pieces. They need to get those this recruiting class. Hopefully with lack of playing time, things will shake out and we can clear some more Mitch memories.

My notes:
1. I liked what I saw from the wings-I think the MAAC/A10 teams are going to have their issues with them! They ALL looked strong and talented!
2. Long was VERY IMPRESSIVE!
3. Bisping seemed to have chip on his shoulder-maybe he found his inner Lambier!
4. Wright looked very good at the point!
5. Salis, Cruz and Hopper have work to do!
6. I like Coach P.'s attitude during the practice. He clearly wants the players to WORK and LEARN from their mistakes!
