Those who don't think this coaching staff has helped OD go from a solid player to a POY candidate have forgotten the sight of OD bending halfway over, staring at the ground and dribbling the ball 3-5 times with his back to the basket, then forcing up a shot against the double (or triple) team that had converged on him, or shooting a fade-away airball. This happened EVERY time he touched the ball for 2 years. He has come a looooong way, and he didn't do it by himself. It took a lot of coaching to get him to stop that.

Rak, Rob, OD, Davis and Ryan! FOB by position Imoh, Tren, Brett, Lionel, Chris, Rich. Marcus, Stephen. Evan will sit until Fri. Chris will surprise a lot of folks as should Marcus. Kids need to play someone other than their teammates and they need to play in front of their fans. Lepp looks like a quick defender and a good ballhandler. He just seems like he can't shoot a lick. He seems like he could definitely run the point in a pinch.

It is college basketball. Luck in recruiting takes a part, but these guys are coached to better play. The only one I see as an exception to this is Ubiles, who could have been more, but his raw talent carried him, not super Fran. If he didn't get injured he would have played in the NBA sooner. The rest of the players are coached and I think both recent coaches are good and bad. They aren't perfect. Fran's teams started slow in games and came on later. Mitch's teams start stronger, but fade more quickly. That is coaching and figuring out the best time to sub and use timeouts is a difficult thing with the ever changing personnel. This season could be the best ever for Siena or just another lackluster season, but either way I think Mitch will keep it competitive and exciting. Finding the right players to play together out of this deep roster will be the key. ...and Martens is a key cog.

Davis is athletic, but has trouble grasping the ball..... he actually has a similar problem to what I pointed out about Wignot. Small hands for his size.

Davis is athletic, but has trouble grasping the ball..... nail on head, he is athletic........needs to be counted on to rebound and defend............but at no time has he displayed the knack for the putting the ball in the hoop with regularity, so expectations are what they are, and he should not be expected to be an offensive weapon at this point!!!!!!!!!

When David Silver married Donna Martin on 90210… imagine if David was “super woke” and took Donna’s last name?
His name would be David Martin.
I think about this every time I think about Davis Martens.
