Who knows maybe the portal/nil is the great equalizer. We think our chemistry is bad imagine how it is at a blue blood when guy 5 is making $500,000 and guy 6 makes nothing. Plus college basketball has been in a decline for years with all the expansion... another equalizer although st Francis folding could be the start of the reversal I've been waiting for.

Imagine the POY in the ACC only making $100K while a transfer from Kansas St got $800K from the same team?? Had to cause problems among the troops, but they still got to the FF.

IMO … NIL is in its infancy … eventually the big dollars will filter down to smaller schools (e.g Quinnipiac) … outcome it will cause more imbalance among conference teams … a signing bonus can soon become part or the recruiting process … I hope I’m wrong QU pays their coach a ton and they’ve won nothing. Siena has the biggest fan base in the MAAC anyway. They should be the MAAC team “buying” players. Mike … that’s my point … don’t you think that if QU starts paying their players “a ton” it might change things … I hate this whole NIL thing … players should get a monthly stipend since it would be difficult for them to get a job for pocket money … their $250k private college education should be worth something that nobody seems to mention. PS remember UNLV back in the day … they had it all figured out … pay your players and you’ll have a great team … oh forgot it was illegal then

What a postseason for Conference USA, they've got this Florida Atlantic run in the NCAA, North Texas and UAB are both in the NIT Final Four, and Charlotte already won the CBI. North Texas and UAB will meet in the NIT Championship tonight to make this Conference USA postseason even more remarkable. Pretty safe to say at this point that North Texas was the biggest NCAA snub. Perhaps the NCAA should pay attention to their own metric, North Texas was #38 in the NET Rankings, ahead of a whole bunch of teams that got at large bids.

I'm not a huge fan of that, but to follow it up... Are you saying extend the season by a full week? Or keep Selection Sunday, have a 'play-in' round on Mon-Tue with the bottom 64 (33-96). So then those 32 winners face 1-32 who got byes. And pick up normally starting that Thur-Fri with 32 more games? Or am I screwing up my math and/or calendar? Edit: I'm sure there's other/better ways, but that's what came to me. (And as I said I am not a fan of that plan with 96).

Iona might have been the 2nd best team in the Tournament. Siena beat Seton Hall. Seton Hall beat UConn. 😉 Great first game heartbreaking for FAU.
