Jalen is having an outstanding season at Penn State: 1st Team all Big10..........and should be on one of the national all-american teams.............great to see............. |

Picketts backcourt mate on the All-Big 10 team might be another kid with Albany ties. Boo Buie from Albany/Troy is having a monster year for Northwestern, who just beat #1 Purdue. Buie had 26. You guys probably remember his half brother Talor Battle (Bishop Maginn) who is the all time leading scorer in the history of Penn State mens basketball.
I remember Patsos recruiting Buie when he was an underclassman at Troy HS, because he was tight with the father, who played at Maryland. Family moved to Pa. so he never finished his HS career here in the 518.

Patsos ran bringing him to Siena for his last chance at one point, but it was shot down by D'Arg. |

He was probably the most talented of the 3. Certainly the highest rated out of HS. Patsos ran bringing him to Siena for his last chance at one point, but it was shot down by D'Arg. If it wasnt for that big kid at Indiana, he might be the Big 10 MVP! First team for sure.
He's got a legit shot at making an NBA roster someday.

Penn St has alot of work to do down the stretch to even get into the tourney...........but wouldn't that be great if somehow they did and Pickett got to play back in Albany............... I hope his team makes it to the dance. It’d really suck (for him) if Penn St didn’t but Siena did. But he’s proven he can play at the next level, hopefully that gets him to the NBA (or other pro ball opportunities after college). Would have loved to see the “what if” he stayed results. |

When I read the comments about how well he is doing and the possibility of the NBA, one question comes to mind. Does he have the quickness to stay with NBA players? I'm not putting Jalen down but that is probably the biggest question in my mind. We know his many attributes. Trying to think of who to compare him with in the NBA. Maybe Jalen Brunson. Not explosive but crafty guy with the ball with a decent perimeter game. Too much of a stretch? |
