This may be the coach’s last season at the Cuse.
He just purchased his retirement home on Skaneateles Lake and he’s not too far away from Jim Belushi’s new pot shop way up north. 🙂

I think the article said he’s 77. More power to him if he wants to keep working but there’s always a cost which family/spouse may suffer.
You can tell I’m not a Cuse fan, I don’t dislike them but just don’t follow them but they really should turn over the reigns soon. JMO.

He's had a good run. Stayed home and won a ton of games and was always in the NCAA tournament. He could have left for big money but stayed home and gave them a discount.

Syracuse has always been cheap. That's why the football program has suffered, they lucked out having JB stay, it will be interesting to see how much they are willing to shell out when he does leave. My guess is they will become a doormat for the ACC if they don't pay a coach 4+million a year. |

Even if they pay, I don't think SU is a destination job and good coaches are hard to find at any level. Money is part of it for sure but there are a lot of southern destinations that are more attractive long term.

Even if they pay, I don't think SU is a destination job and good coaches are hard to find at any level. Money is part of it for sure but there are a lot of southern destinations that are more attractive long term. They do have that dome and getting 30k for a home game is attractive. The area supports SU and shows up. Nothing else to do in the winter in Central NY. |

Fanbases are only attractive these days if they are paying into major NIL efforts. And outside of one donor, sounds like Cuse is behind on NIL.

Not everyone would pick that but it seems he may have. 🙂 I seas being funny about him retiring but I really believe he’s leaving soon. What’s soon (the end of the season , end of next season, 3 years)? I don’t know but it’s sooner that he and others think it will be. He’s not getting any healthier, I say he’s done after this season. |

I assumed it’d me health reasons and not the college replacing him type of thing. Based on Boeheim's presser and the statement by the school, I definitely think it's the college replacing him. That was just weird. |
