Hopefully there some half time adjustments and they get this win, we know Marist folds late. Thank you for this post at halftime when other posters were busy rearranging the deck on the Titanic!

Game was won with the starting lineup, saving Rogers for when it mattered most. đ Gotta give it to you and Carm for the brilliant strategy. Donât start your best offensive player, fall behind by 10 in the first 5 minutes, look like a high school offense and get the opposition overconfident. It worked like a charm! đ

Hopefully there some half time adjustments and they get this win, we know Marist folds late. Thank you for this post at halftime when other posters were busy rearranging the deck on the Titanic! I have to admit that when they were down 25-9 about 10 minutes in, I had no hope that they could come back and win. Then after getting within 12 in the 2nd half, only to fall behind again by 17, I lost all hope again. So glad I kept watching, seeing an impossible comeback, and not just squeaking by with a prayer at the buzzer! Rogers, Billups and Hopkins were all outstanding, but I have to say that Gaines and Johnson gave me multiple outbursts of frustration. Hope the team can keep the streak going at Manhattan. Go Saints!

Gaines made some big plays down the stretch and was certainly key in the victory. However, we have seen plenty of times this year Gaines has driven into traffic, drew contact, and been unable to get the call. Finally, he got a friendly whistle down the stretch. We don't get those calls and we are probably lamenting the loss and blaming Gaines for forcing too much. Amazing what a difference the zebras can make on our perception.

I think sometimes Gaines tries to do too much. Lets hope he learned from this experience in letting game come to him. Lets remember he was a role player at Northwestern, so being an integral part of team is new to him also

For much of the season Gaines has been operating as if he's the star but the officials have not been treating him like one. Last night he finally got the star treatment and it made a huge difference. Let's hope that carries over the rest of the way.

Dunne is a bit of a dick! âThey junked it up, not like the 1-3-1 was particularly great, but said his comments are not meant in a demeaning wayâ. Oh sure!
Per TU: âOne hundred percent, it threw us way off,â Dunne said. âThey just junked it up. I donât mean this in a demeaning way, it wasnât like the 1-3-1 was particularly great. Clearly, itâs not something that they do. But it just threw us off enough, and when youâre down that big, Iâm sure (Maciariello) is thinking, let me throw something out there and if it works, weâll stick with it, and if it doesnât, whatâs the harm. And thatâs what he did.â

It wasnât some perfectly executed zone. Its a junk defense. Its intended goal was to throw something Marist hadnât prepped for at them. It worked. What Dunne said is absolutely right.

The criticism Gaines got for 3/4 of the game, and much of this season, was deserved. To often he dribbles and goes nowhere and as I said in the first half, when he starts to beat his man he doesnât go strong to the hoop. The best thing he does offensively is hit fouls shots and the last 10 minutes he took it strong and drew the foul. I think Tony made a good point. He is used to being a role player the last 4 years. Hopefully he can keep doing what he is good at and Carm has said he wants in his offenseâŚAttack and Finish.

Busy last night so watched the game this morning without knowing who won ⌠glad I hung with it and watched the whole game ⌠took some effort but I recalled as Siena undergraduate leaving at halftime with a big deficit & team pulled it out ⌠think it was Colby being interviewed on Channel 13 Thursday who predicted they would win on defense ⌠from now on âWhen Colby speaks everyone should listenâ

I was at a high school game last night and then streamed the game when I returned home. Loved the comeback, but another thing I really loved was coming on the board this morning and reading all the negative comments on the first part of this thread! If you want some humor, go back and read what posters were saying early on in this game!!! Nice that we can all laugh about it today. Siena looking like a contender after all!!!!!! Love it.

I would say it was pretty well executed, the box score doesnât lie, imo Dunne was pretty much inept at making any adjustments last night on the fly. Marist has a tendency to not close out games, & this was another epic collapse. Maybe thatâs where Dunne should focus. 1 3 1 is a pretty standard zone trapping passing lane disrupting defense, I wouldnât call it junk. It was used exactly as it was intended, not something you play all game but something that changes game flow and causes disruption and it was well executed by our club! Props to Carm for breaking it out, & to Dunne - they choked again this season. Dunne has a shit - ton of talent on that squadC they are big/strong, & extremely athletic but theyâre all selfish 1 on 1 guys. They donât play like a team. Thatâs on DUNNE!
