What's the probability of him getting the Siena job? I personally think he is what Siena needs! He turned the program completely around at Loyola, gets all the students on campus to comes to games, very involved with the Community and a lot of energy to turn this Siena program around! :D What do all of you think?

Hope if this is the final decision he needs to win more 'BIG' games. Think younger with higher ceiling is the way to go.

I think Patsos has won some big games at Loyola. He'll play anyone, anywhere. Won the MAAC title, had probably a better Loyola team 4 or 5 years ago and was just up against Fran's teams - who he beat a couple of times.
I think he'd be the perfect choice personality-wise to reinvigorate the fanbase and get the students more involved. He'd be the Mayor of Albany.
He is still animated, not as much as he was 3 or 4 years ago, but definitely still animated - not much different than Mike Deane and he's about the same age as Mike Deane was when he left Siena for Marquette.
Running a mid-major program for a decade, taking it over when it was clearly the worst program in the country and establishing it as a legitimate contender year-in and year-out is pretty much what Siena is looking for.
Familiar with the league, recruits areas historically Siena has done well recruiting and he has some talent he'd bring along with him (Lavon Long).

I said it before I'll say it again. He reminds me a lot of Will Brown. Won/loss % around 500. Big games seem to get away from him. Rather see him stay where he is or go somewhere else.

Patsos would be a good guy... and he would invigorate the fan base, schmooze with Boosters. I don’t think many of you realize the damage the program wrecker did to Siena’s bottom line. He cost Siena a lot of bucks. Besides the obvious lost games, he wasn't good with boosters at functions etc. Jimmy would not be good at that kind of stuff he'd be great
Jimmy might not be my first choice , but I wouldn’t be upset if Siena hired him at all
As for not winning big games..please… list big games Fran won before he got here. Jimmy has won a MAAC championship, and gave Fran’s great teams a run for the money

Jimmy has won a MAAC championship, and gave Fran’s great teams a run for the money LeHigh 73 At Penn State 70 1986-1987 Lehigh 79 vs Penn State 72 1987-1988 Lehigh 84 at Towson 78 1987-1988 Patriot League Championship UNCG 67 at Chattanooga 66 2000-2001 SoConn Championship UNCG 70 vs Wofford 41 2001-2002 Tied 1st North, received NIT invite (nonautomatic) So, 5 big wins out of 266 games prior to coming to Siena. Patsos: Loyola MD 48, Fairfield 44 2011-2012 Maac Championship Loyola MD 72 Indiana 67 2009-2010 So that's 2 games out of 269 games before coming to Siena, Fran has it 5 to 2 lol. I do agree with you-- depending upon the circumstances I would be okay with the hire--- in the short term it might be good to get the students involved for awhile although I question whether he has what it takes to get us to the next level (or even the level we were at).

The numbers have to work for Siena ... Lets see if new Fox Sports channel goes nuts with a big dollar contract offer to A10 ... Basically bball would be only revenue sport but travel costs go up for all sports ... May also have to add scholarships to be more competitive

Right now from a fan standpoint (and thus the admin's) the numbers don't work for staying in the MAAC. There will be short term pain but if Siena has a choice to join the A-10 the answer better be "yes".

Gory you are correct Siena has pretty much reached its zenith if they stay in MAAC. Only so much you can charge for seats with the non conf schedule the program wrecker had in last year, then you throw in conf games against the likes of Canisius/SPC/ Rider/ Monmouth/ Quinnpic and MAAC is at 11 teams how long before Wagner is in? Forget any seat licensing with that type schedule and even premium seating will have a ceiling
