Does being in a grad program preclude a student from taking undergraduate courses and/or adding an additional Bachelor's degree? I'm not sure what major he graduated with but let's assume Business. If the courses he has already completed at Northwestern along with the courses he is taking for the MBA would have him 90% of the way towards a Bachelor's in Economics could he stick around two years and add that degree?

Wait, what??? Gaines has 2 years??? Technically yes, since he redshirted in 2018-19 with an injury at Northwestern and had last year as the free year. I’d be pretty surprised if we get two years from him, if nothing else because the pacing of the MBA program may not work. He’ll run out of things to take academically. Plus he can go have a pro career. But theoretically it’s an option for a 6th year of college. Ok so Gaines has 2 years of eligibility but we’re not expecting he stays more than 1. How about the other transfers? I’m sure it’s been covered on individual bases but I forgot. Johnson (listed as senior), Rogers (listed as Junior), Kellier (listed as Junior), Tertsea (Senior), Baer (Grad). Does everyone just get 1 extra year on top of what their listed year suggests?

I quickly look at a few articles that listed remaining “eligibility”. Tertsea - 1 Gaines - 2 Johnson - 1 (possibly 2 for covid?) Baer - 2 Keller - 3 Rogers 2 (possibly 3 for covid?)

Then there’s the question on who wants that extra year and who doesn’t.

He’s the real deal. Quiet, humble and a grinder. I’ll take kids like him anyday. I wish we had 4 years of him.

Only thing that makes me nervous is only having 2 bigs... Yeah, that's a concern. But let's see what Carm has up his sleeve and how he gets creative with that. But yes, if we have an injury to a big, could be trouble.

Only thing that makes me nervous is only having 2 bigs... All depends on how you’d like to define “big” Mike Baer is likely playing the 5. Jordan Kellier is a big ass dude. He might play some 5… if he buys into that.

Sure we have guys that can “fill-in” by playing out of true position (maybe)… but personally I think it’ll come back to bite us at times throughout the season.
