Next Friday we will find out. I would think he has an obligation to City To Rocks and if he commits for 24 maybe he can’t play |

I could be wrong, but my gut tells me that this kid (Doty), being from upstate New York, would prefer staying in the neighborhood and playing for one of the best coaches in the country. We’ll see ‼️

With this new NIL landscape, the days of committing on an official visit are over. A good point. The recruiting process will become more and more like professional free agency as time goes on. The “official visit” will likely go away at some point in favor of an “interest visit” and a possible formal offer of a spot on the team (contract and NIL details). Just reading his public posts I get the feeling this kid has a team of people well versed in the rules and are looking out for the best deal for him. It’s doesn’t seem like he would make a knee jerk decision. I’m glad the visit went well. With any other recent coach I think that not getting an immediate commitment would be a “bad sign”. GMac seems to understand how to recruit in the new landscape. Time will tell if he can recruit talent as well as be a head coach, but he’s off to a good start. At least there aren’t any scholarships that will be taken up by “players” out of town rehabbing injuries for years. |

And maybe he committed but give that he said he would commit on a certain date maybe there will be a ceremony at end of school year like many schools do. The fact he gave a specific date makes me think there are other logistic items to consider

Still one more to go. McNamara said he’s “down the road” on the 13th scholarship. Any insight on the position or potential targets?

Quite possible, but a high school senior considering prep vs 2024 commitment may not be pressing too hard for NIL cash. Don't get me wrong, he looks like a very good recruit with talent, but I just don't know the "market value" for HS recruits that aren't super "high profile". |

Besides, wouldn't a redshirt year (or playing) on full college scholarship be better than paying for a year of prep school?

Could he have been talking about Doty as that 13th guy and there is someone else he was counting on as the 12th? Would be nice to get the last 2 spots locked down this week so they can get in on the team workouts. |
