Well, I'm not sure, I've never tried to rank that many. All along I've said my top 3 are Richard Pitino, Scott Cherry, and Jason Capel. I'd probably add Bobby Hurley, Steve Evans, Cliff Warren, and after that I'd have to give it more thought. Jason or Jeff Capel? Jason still too much of a coaching newbie for me to like that hire.

I remember before Fran was hired, two of the coaches some on this board pushed were Pete Gillen and Bill Herrion. Gillen hasn't taken another coaching job, and Herrion hasn't exactly set the world on fire at New Hampshire. That isn't an easy place to win, but good coaches win, right?

Jason. He is new, but he is smart enough to hire veteran assistants, he's part of the Carolina family, and his actual family has ties everywhere.

Gotta love Section2 - bust my balls (which is fine I can take it) and then suggests "Steve Evans" WTF?
We don't need "sexy" (Fran certainly wasn't in 2005) we need the right coach...the names will soon be leaking out.

Steve Evans was the fifth name in my list and has a stronger resume than Paulson or Toole, plus ties to Siena and upstate New York. Is he great? I don't know, but he has as many pluses as your 2 saviors and he's fifth on my list.

Paulsen won a D3 national title at Williams College. He should take Bucknell to their third straight postseason. How is his resume lesser? Don't need ties to upstate New York. Northeast/eastcoast connections are fine. No previous connection to Siena is needed or even wanted. Beyer and Buonaguro - the two worst Siena head coaches ever had a previous connection. Enough said.

Paulson won at D3, lost at D2, wins in the Patriot with an NBA big man. Trying to change my words won't help you, I didn't say he was "lesser", I said Evans was AS GOOD. And because YOU don't want Siena ties, that means "enough said" ? Ok, lmao.

Doesn't Paulsen get credit for bringing him to Bucknell? He didn't inherit him. I wouldn't say Paulsen "lost" at Le Moyne he was 42-39. How is Evans as good? He has a LOSING record at the same school and has NEVER been a HC in D1?

Evans has a losing record in 13 years at LeMoyne.
Quite frankly, his resume is crap.

And I don't know how you ding a guy for winning with a supposed NBA player.
Who was responsible for recruiting and developing him?

Evans was 21 games under ..500 his first 2 years, he's above .500 in the 11 years since. Sure Paulsen gets credit for recruiting and developing Muscala, but it doesn't make him great. I'd like to see him win more with that advantage. An NBA big in the Patriot is a huge advantage.
