Messege of the Admin: You want us to buy season tickets for next year? Thats easy..go get a coach that we can be " sold on " that leaves " no doubt " that SIENA IS BACK. Ex. 1.Dave Paulsen 2. Andy Toole I'm still not sure why anyone thinks Paulsen or Toole is the answer. They may do good, but it's not like they have proven a ton. Paulsen won at D2 and has been good in the Patriot, in the seasons he has an NBA big man. Toole took over the great program Rice built. I'm not sold on either.

Have to agree with S22 on this - everyone should do what they want - renew now/wait for change/wait till next summer/don't renew but chill out on the negativity re the early renewal. The school, as someone previously said, is taking a read on the vital signs. They don't just read the boards (and the "threats" to not renew) to get a sense as to how bad things are. It's a smart move and S22 was just trying to tamp down the negative reaction to the pulse check right now. S22 doesn't work for Siena but you won't find a more loyal alum and supporter of ALL of Siena's athletics. . I think another reason is to provide solid evidence of continued declining revenues to Mitch at his season end meeting. I agree, it's a smart move, but I can't blame the fans for the negativity. This program is run like a business, and at a higher level than the rest of the MAAC, so when it does a "pulse check" at the end of a third straight losing season, it has to expect and should appreciate all comments, even if they are negative. If the loyal supporters respect this, the thread will die down sooner than later.

Actually Paulsen made his name at the D-3 level (Williams) where he won a National Championship, and won close to 80% of his games over 8 seasons. He was barely .500 at LeMoyne in his 3 years there. Nobody is the answer right now. Whoever gets the job, has his work cut out for him. Bigtime.

I do think the school erred by omitting the fact that MTS, who "KNOWS" that a change will be made (LOL), has stepped up and will refund the $50 down payment if a change doesn't take place! Disagreeing with the actual "change" will NOT get you a refund however. if they cant gauge the vital signs w/o having an early season ticket renewal to see where we are at as fans, i have even less hope for the program.

This is great. I was going to start a thread about season ticket renewal being under way, as a joke. Little did I know that truth is stranger than fiction. You can't make this stuff up. Mitch has been in our &$$ all season and now they want a commitment from us. No way, it's your turn to commit to the future of Siena hoops. Enough of the lip service. What's the problem? You know that a coaching change will be made as soon as possible after the MAAC Tournament. If you want to wait to renew your season ticket, or to decide if you even want one, until after a new coach is hired, that's fine. But season tickets will be for sale, and many of us will renew them, now or later, so what's the big deal? Just don't take out your anger and frustration on the people who will be at the tables offering to renew the tickets. Those people don't have anything to do with what you are upset about. They probably aren't any happier about things than you are. I will renew at a later date. No need to do it now. I do not wish to be counted as part of the Pulse Check. Go ahead renew now. "Just don't take out your anger and frustration on the people who will be at the tables offering to renew the tickets. " Are you insinuating that those of us who will not renew tomorrow, would take any frustration out on those working the tables? Why would I or anyone else take anything out on those working. They have nothing to do with it. I have no frustration to take out on anyone. All I have is my season ticket renewal and I'll renew a a later date. Oh, I will be there tomorrow and the only screaming will be in support of the Saints...

Thanks, hoopjunkie, my bad, I promoted Williams college in my mind. Paulsen might be great, Toole might be. I just can't see why so many think they are the top 2 choices. They might not make my top 10.

I'm with section 2 and others-- not sold on either of them although one of them might be "the one". I hope the fan base has an open mind this time around and lets the admin do its job. I know, mistakes have been made, but some homeruns have been hit too.

Depends on who stays/goes and who we add but next year will be a rebuilding year (if possible I'd delay the Old Spice Classic and Italy trip one year). That said I certainly expect to win more games than this season. Year two we should have a winning record and be in the mix for CBI/CIT bid. By the new coaches' third year I expect to seriously contend for the MAAC (if we still are in the MAAC) championship both regular and postseason. I don't think that's too unreasonable. Paulsen and Toole would be good coaches but there should be a lot of good candidates interested.

Well, good to see MTS jump off the Paulsen and Toole bandwagon. He touts them as the saviors, then dumps them when someone questions them.

Yeah, I suspect that there are some people who would give the folks staffing the ticket renewal tables a bit of a hard time, and I was asking those so inclined to not do it. Glad that you won't be one of them. And glad to hear that you'll be supporting the Saints, by which I assume that you mean the players. We all need to do that. It will be interesting to see what kind of reaction there is as Mitch leaves the home court for the last time after the game. Win or lose tomorrow night, I'm hoping that the fans will remain civil and not say or shout anything. Nothing to be gained by that kind of thing.

I'd probably add Bobby Hurley, Steve Evans, Cliff Warren, and after that I'd have to give it more thought.

this list could very possibly contain our next head coach IMHO God I hope not – haven’t we learned our lesson with hiring coaches with career losing records? Steve Evan- losing career record at Lemoyne. Capel—does he have recruiting contacts up north? Scott Cherry losing record in Big South , Bobby Hurely no experience as head coach
