Yes I think the games can happen as long as the schools can make the math work with no/few fans.

The games can happen. We've had several football games in the South where lots of people come together and for the most part practice social distancing and mask wearing. And Armageddon has not befallen upon us. Just need enough schools willing to work together to get the games scheduled for the kids. I imagine watching them on TV or computer in this crazy year is acceptable for the vast majority of us. It's that "for the most part" thing that's got us in trouble. Positive test rates are rising all over the country, and even though the medical folks have made great improvements in treating people who become ill with the virus, and in reducing mortality rates, the number of deaths will continue going up until everybody gets on the same page with physical distancing and wearing masks.

With the way this "hoax" is progressing I'm becoming more convinced that we won't play a game this season - way too much virus around and a population unwilling to wear a mask and social distance coupled with the continued obscene lack of aggressive testing and contact tracing will be the death knell of inside sports - so depressing - it didn't have to get to this point This post won’t age well.

It shouldn't "age well" as we'll know for sure in less than a month - I hope I'm wrong but things have gotten too out of control and switching from games outside to inside will be a big stretch, IMO. It's not a political thing, the virus has gone viral and we've squandered the opportunity to prepare for it nationwide.

Hopefully not but Bethune cookman, a d1 school in Florida, just cancelled sports for 2020-2021

Singelais reporting that Siena and Bona might play at Mohegan Sun. I heard previously that Bona wanted Siena to play at the Reilly Center this year and, because the game would presumably be played without fans, journey to Olean again in 2021-22. Carm was reportedly quick to shoot down that request.

I don't have any idea whether that statement about Historically Black Colleges and Universities is true or not, but I have to believe that it extends to a bunch more schools than just them, including Siena. Most schools don't have the resources to absorb the kind of completely unexpected and huge costs they're dealing with because of the pandemic.

Are you Seriously suggesting that an organization take from the rich and give to the poor? Do you really not see the irony in that?

Do you really not see the irony in that? Funding sports/conferences is completely different than regular society. Sports is socialist to a degree (worst team picks first, salary cap, revenue sharing etc). It works there it doesn't work in the real world.

If numbers continue rising you’re about a week away from Cuomo pulling the plug on any sports in the state.

I'm sorry but this has gone on long enough. If you're afraid stay home. We have all the data. We can't continue on this path. It's not sustainable.

You better hunker down because we aren’t near being done with this. Sorry if all of this stuff has had a negative impact on your life. Welcome to the club! And you might be surprised at how much “authority” a governor has, particularly one who takes their oath of office seriously.

And democrat governors have done enough damage so that is scary.
